Very informative video. I own an MKE AP5, semiauto clone made in Turkey. Upon inspection of the bolthead, it has the first generation retainer plate and retainer pin. I read that the 3rd gen retaining pin works on all boltheads, but for the retaining plate, I would probably have to stick with the first gen one. Am I right?

Really good instructions :-) Wouldn't it work to safely run all HK roller delayed systems completely without roller retainers ? My understanding is that the rollers are fully contained by the receiver and trunnion as soon as the bolt group carrier is under tension of the recoil spring. This way it would work to carefully assemble the gun without the retainers and use it like this until the spare parts arrive in the mail. Would be great if one of the experts could chime in here to confirm or reject this idea.

I just ordered new +2 German rollers and some other part’s from you for a hk91 from 1980 which wasn’t fired much I think. Using the feeler gauge I also got from you showed a .0010 bolt gap. I did not however order a new roll pin that holds in the spring thing for the rollers like in this video. So should I order a retainer plate along with the new roll pin? If so what generation? Thanks in advance.

If I have an MKE gun that uses the old style plate, and it breaks, can I replace it with the newer style or do I need to keep buying the old style?

You can upgrade to our "roller retainer spring" that is made for the 1st gen bolt heads or the standard roller retainer plates.
