Installing KNS Precision Adjustable Piston on Galil Ace

Thought I would upload a video just to show how easy it is to install the KNS Adjustable Piston in my Galil Ace 7.62x39mm pistol . There was no drilling to get the old pin out . Just a simple punch . Very easy . Thanks for watching .

You mentioned using the "jet insert" on the 5.45x39. I have 7.62x39, 5.56x45 and 5.45x39 Galil Aces with the 8.3" barrel. While the 7.62x39 and 5.56x45 are significantly over gassed, the 5.45x39 isn't at all. It's the only one that there's no need to install this adjustable piston on. I'm pretty sure that the jet insert can be used for 5.56x45 Galil Aces.

Is it true you can adjust the gas settings just by pulling the bolt all the way back to access the knob, or do you have to disassemble the rifle to get to it?

Your comments are turned off on your scar 17s unboxing video. Just FYI on putting a vortex razor on it. I had the 1-6 and the gen III 1-10 on mine and took them both off. Where as I really like those optics, they are super heavy and kinda ruin the scar's light weight appeal. Just my.02

@@zhoadam right on, the acog is a good option. I went back to my nightforce 2.5x10 compact. And running a Leupold pro point red dot on a off set T-rex mount. I also took off the concussion machine break and put on the AAC 18 tooth miter FH and like it a lot better. I look forward to seeing more scar video from you in the future. 👍

Can you fire it after adjusting the piston without a suppressor? My M92 SBR won't run unless the piston is fully closed, so the only way I can use this is if I'm running a suppressor.

It runs both ways on my first gen ace . I need to dial it in but I have not yet .

You may be able to use the original . It's been awhile since I worked on mine so I can't remember .

Did you see a noticeable difference? I installed on my galil 7.62 x39 rifle and did not see any difference before failure to feed next round.

To be honest I have not adjusted it yet . I moved it around before I installed it . My galil ace gen 1 7.62x39 shoots so smooth I haven't even tried to adjust . No failure to feed using Brown Bear subs with it without my supressor . I run a Dead Air Wolverine when suppressed.

You're asking too much if you expect it to transform the dynamic. Yes it is pretty noticeable and will make it reliable when suppressed. A good brake will also help. Keep in mind it's still a 7.62x39 shorty gassed to work in the worst conditions.

I've changed them twice now . I think that is a midwest industries in the video . Right now I have a custom wood grip on it .

Are the specs for the gen2 the exact same? Basically can the "gen1" fit in a gen2?

Kind of late but KNS still has no option for the ace 308 pistol. Rifle is gtg with part# AGP-A-8.

I used the one they sent . I could have reused my old one . I saved the original just in case .

@@i_Kalash If you go to midwest industries sight they have a picture of what you barrel needs to look like to use the rail . They have 2 different versions . I am not sure which ones the newer v version will use .
