Makes a great difference. I bought some aftermarket clip on type first and they were rubbish, they kept falling off. This is such an OEM upgrade with a great feel.

@DownShiftThrottle fitted them on my lunch break today and they look so much better than the buttons it had before! Glad I went down the Ebay route and picked some up for £70 rather than the £250+ VW were asking for!

you didn't disconnect the battery? you didn't even remove the airbag fuse? Isn't it dangerous to do it like this? I have to install them too and I'm undecided whether to disconnect the battery or not... but from what I can see it doesn't seem to be a problem... do you have any useful tips to keep in mind? you also have the ignition on without any worries…

As you saw….no issues. No need to disconnect battery or fuses. Same on BMWs I’ve had airbags off without disconnecting batteries

Should be safe, I did without disconnecting battery. I hold no responsibility if your airbag goes off though lol

I think the back of the steering wheel mounts are different on a mk7 and 7.5. These won’t fit

You should really disconnect the battery but won't be able to turn the steering to get to the holes behind the steering wheel

@@DownShiftThrottleI just did it…disconnected the battery, reconnected every time to turn the steering wheel to access the 3 airbag clips. Be ready to have a ton of errors when you’re done. A bunch of codes will have to be cleared with a scanner…
