i really needed this video this morning... i am about to sell my Racing Line inlet hose I bought from you. (and thanks for being a sponsor). It just doesnt fit with my Turbosmart Plumbback valve.. it is such tight clearance that i can't even fit a HOSE CLAMP in the gap to lock it down. plus, i feel i might loose some pedal feel with it, but i look forward to watching this now to find out.

I installed a turbo inlet pipe, inlet hose, hi flow performance oiled air filter, removed the air box snow/rain grate, cut open the blocked stock air intake on the right side on my MK7 and definitely noticed a smoother, quicker acceleration. Throttle response at all rpm’s and spool up is appreciably is better as well. Easy affordable DIY mods.

Here in the uk 🇬🇧 what you did is known as the PikeyR600. I gained 45 bhp on a stage one remap but a further 30 by doing the PikeyR600 and fitting one piece turbo inlet pipe. Very nice gains for £200. I already had a panel filter so my 2016 TTS was 318bhp on the before dyno. Hopefully this applies to the Mk8 Golf too.

Take this with a grain of salt, after I went stage 2 on my S3 and bought a dragy I ran a 11.72 with the stock inlet and k&n filter on my second pass, I bought an MST inlet with the silicone hose and wow it felt that the car breathe better and it feels faster, guess what, I dragy between 15-20 passes on the same spot but different days, even with better DAs I was never able to beat the 11.72 pass 🤦‍♂️

I'm glad to see they moved the secondary airline from the turbo inlet pipe to the airbox. That could be pretty rough to get off on the Mk 7. Wonder how aftermarket air box companies will deal with that moving forward.

PVC inlet moved off the turbo elbow to I’m guessing a port on the turbo. SAI is same spot on the air filter box.

Never modded my Mk7 but thanks to your content, I picked up a MK8 because I couldn’t get an R. So far very happy, have the Oettinger body kit and I’ve ordered the R paddles and well as the gas strut. Looking at the ESC valved exhaust, this part would be right at home as the next mod. Keep up the great content!
