Very nice. Only quibble i'd have is the use of silicone as when it comes to any redec (i realise you'll be long gone) it'll be a real pain in the backside. There are plenty of paintable sealants on the market now.

Surprising to see how much space you have around your stuff. I come to this from working in new construction in Canada, and wondering how to actually maneuver carcasses into a space solo, because our spacings are so tight we often have to do stuff like lift the carcass over a door casing, because otherwise it won't fit. what is the motivation by having so much space? are you just worried about your walls being WAY out? or is to more that you don't want your side trims to be narrow enough that emphasize any out of plumb of the adjoining walls? Or is it something else?

Hi This house is particularly big tbh, most places we work in are pretty small too. I think to make decent size trims that don loook really thin (i think as this job was a while ago :-))

I think I was a bit unclear. I was not referring to the size of the room or house you were working in, I meant the space between the cabinets you were installing, and the walls they are being scribed into. thanks for the reply though, and it is very interesting to see, as obviously it's working well for you, and that has been one of the more serious technical challenges I have been thinking about in terms of branching out into solo work: how to actually move the cabinets around in a finished space, without a helper.

Absolutely fantastic job. Educate me, so you established level with packing pieces and screwed those down to the floor with a ‘short’ screw that would not breach through the other side of the floor - did you then screw or glue any shims to the packing pieces?

Thank you! I only use shims if I need a mm or 2, but generally slip them in just before the bearer goes on top of the packers 👍

Looks very good. How do you attach your plinths? To the bearers, or the carcass? Also, I'm assuming when you say 'silicone' you mean arcylic caulk or similar?

Thanks, we screw down from the carcass for the plinths and we use silicone not caulk as every component is finished, we dint want to have to paint over the caulk bead.

Bearers are so much better than legs, I cringe when I see adjustable legs on wardrobes etc. Bearers give strength and ease of fixings to the carcass 👍

Great video as always. I’ve found so many tips and ideas from your videos, maybe for a change I can give you a helpful tip - I’ve found that the best way to avoid plaster break out is to start the hole with a HSS bit without hammer action on. Say for example I wanted a 10mm hole, I’d start with an 8mm HSS no hammer and go as deep as possible (usually only about 10mm), then an 8mm masonry with hammer on and then finish with a 10mm HSS without hammer, this would usually give you a perfect clean hole with no plaster breakout.
