Good afternoon, neat looking sheet metal work. I have made some lazer poles to make perfect squareness. I level the vehicle and use it for maintaining a perfect center and datum line. They work great for painting stripes and two tone paint. Take care and thanks for the video.

Have you considered a spot welder? With all of the cars you do you would save countless hours removing the weld grinding step. I really enjoy watching you convert nothing into something.

Yeah they work great, but I think the cost of a NTSB spec'd tool might be cost prohibitive.

I talked to Ken and Tom at MTF about the full frame, radiator support, and apron installation. Tom suggested watching your videos. I have the frame and new floors installed in a 1968 and am about ready for radiator support and apron top installation. I used Ken's reference numbers to level the car body and to set the height of the frame from the ground. I dry fit the fenders and had a good door to fender gap. But, I noted that the radiator support was not vertical and the apron panel fronts would have to be cut to fit to radiator support. Your bend to the support would seem to fix this problem ( and the radiator would be vertical) and I suspect the fenders would fit better to the two holes in the radiator support. Do you agree? What is the vertical distance from the top of the front of the frame rail to the top of the radiator support that you use? Any insights would be appreciated.Thanks.

did you notch the fender apron for the bend you made?

Are you using a spot weld timer mode on your welder or have you just got it down you just do it My miller MP250 has a selection of cups for inside corner outside corner flat spot welding And it has a separate toggle switch on the gun for toggling between a bunch of memory settings or increasing/ decreasing wire speed or increase/decrease voltage May be a more in depth as to how you are doing your Do you ever back up the metal with copper to prevent blow threw

Thanks for putting more of these on the road! I was reading a forum where a shop built a fastback with all new metal, including the dynacorn frame. I was really naive, I didn't realize much work the new stuff takes to get it all right, I assumed it was more plug and play. Do you have the proper measurements anywhere to share? You've made me paranoid that mine isn't squared up properly.

You can find mustang frame measurements in the automotive manual. If your car goes down the road straight and your doors shut, then I think you can call it good. Gary

Hi, - what is the difference between a restoration and a complete newly built shell? (Is it just about having the old original vin plate?) great video as always, live long and prosper dude!
@jims414 жыл бұрын
I hope you get an answer, I’m curious too
@Stahodad3 жыл бұрын
I think you are correct..restoration uses the original title..and VIN...a prebuilt shell might be harder to register .. especially if moving a VIN over is not allowed where you live.

Is there going to be any what I would call 'Signature Steel' in this body shell when it is finished, namely a piece, however small, of the original car? - include it to 'honor' the original in'car'nation of the vehicle :)

The entire windshield frame/A pillar structure, as well as subroof and inner rear quarters are all original steel.

Arnaud if you do any welding it's a matter of time that you'll get Arc flash that will burn your eyes what has happened to me is that I got art burn by just being in a workshop where ark welding was going on wasn't directly looking at it was flashing off the walls an old fella told me when I came to work the next day to help with the pain was cutting potatoes in half and stick them on your eyeballs sounds funny but it works
