How did you know what size shim to put under the pinion bearing. If you never pulled the bearing off the old pinion
@BrosFOURRSpeed2 жыл бұрын
This was so long ago...but the kit came with everything we needed so just replacing parts with what was in the kit. My mechanic friend has done this multiple times and he just knew what to do as well.
@300zxdriver4 жыл бұрын
Did you have to play with shims to get pattern right? Also what about backlash? You skimmed over the most important part of a gear change.
@fotomotoxxiii4 жыл бұрын
They didn't do that part, their friend did.
@BrosFOURRSpeed4 жыл бұрын
Only the rear diff had shims and the kit is designed to re use the stock shims, so nothing has to be changed there. Also the backlash wasn't changed either, if you were doing a full rebuild, that would be an important measurement. I know I skipped it, but with schedules on getting that part done, it didn't workout unfortunately.

@BrosFOURRSpeed2 жыл бұрын
I get 15.5 mpg with my 34's and the regear. The regear isn't intended to help or improve mpg at all. It helps with the gearing and improves the smoothness along with helping turn larger tires.
