Hey friend, you should have areas on the firewall that look like rubber grommets that you could feed the wire harness thru instead of taking a chance of pinching it in the door jam.

Is the Relay OK to be screwed in anywhere or is it supposed to go into a slot in fuse box?
@tomloweshow2 ай бұрын
It’s ok to screw anywhere as it’s not part of the factory wiring loom

will that metal loop you used to attach the relay to the plastic work as a ground if i just connect it to the frame of my car?

Nice and simple! the lights are conected directly to the battery forever? I guess it should be another way
@anthonyfletcher80533 ай бұрын
Yes. If you wanted to you can get your power source from elsewhere (fuse box) but it should be fine connecting straight to battery. This way you can turn the lights on without having to put the key in the ignition.
@comandoairsoft9096 Жыл бұрын
can you show the lights from a different view to see how bright they are? like pointing to a dark street? I like your videos I've been following you since you had the Optima greetings from kilgore TX
@KDMCurt Жыл бұрын
Yes! I’m going to do a separate video on that, I figured since the install video was getting kind of long I’d do a part 2 showing how it looks while driving.

Great mod. I may not want the lights on hood all the time (i.e. highway road trips, etc.)...any concerns just unplugging the lights & removing the mounts ... in other words any special protection for the connector plugs under hood when not plugged in the lights/lights removed? thx!

How have the brackets held up? their are plenty off options on Amazon, these dont seem to be the best. Then again, time always tells, so please let me know. Cheers!

Had same question, seems if you can find the ones that mount to the hood support/hinge thatd be best but another channel I saw said he hasnt had an issue with them in his 9 months of owning.

They were great, my only issue is I over tightened them to the hood and left a little dimple in the paint. Other than that they’ve worked perfectly!

@KDMCurt have you driven those pod lights through a car wash tunnel with them not being pulled by the car wash while touching the vehicle? I am on the fence from being concerned these might get pulled off by a touch carwash.
@williamgalicia62196 ай бұрын
@@ziggydiaz7601 yes they fly off, so pull them off or tuck them away inside the hood before entering.

I noticed your Kia Sorento door handles were blacked out. Did you skin them or use an overlay, or did you replace the body colored handles with new black ones? If you replaced them, from where?

Hello. Can I connect the red to the fuse box instead of the car battery. I wanted them to be on as day running lights
@tomloweshow2 ай бұрын
Yeah you can get ‘piggyback’ fuse adapters so that the lights come on with the ignition. Chose a fuse that you want for example if you want it to come on with dipped beam, main beam, fog lights etc. use that fuse slot and the relay will engage with the current from that fuse slot. I hope that makes sense but there are diagrams online which might help visualise. I have my light bar hooked up to the main beam using this method
@kawaiibutterflyeditstwo46722 ай бұрын
@@tomloweshow ok thanks. I wasn’t sure since it has a relay I was concerned to hook it up to the fuse box. I thought maybe it would short circuit

So you have to drill a hole through the hood?
@KDMCurt2 ай бұрын
@@OkayCaptainObviouss no, not at all. These brackets clamp down onto the hood.
@OkayCaptainObviouss2 ай бұрын
@KDMCurt is the hood fully openable? And does it drain battery at all? I’m just curious because I have a 2024 trd camry I wanted to do something different on it and install this on the vehicle
@KDMCurt2 ай бұрын
@ yes, you can open and close the hood like normal. The only time it drains battery is when it’s on really, and even then it’s not that bad since they are LED and use less power.
@OkayCaptainObviouss2 ай бұрын

You didn't adjust the aiming. You could potentially blind the oncoming traffic.
@KDMCurt9 ай бұрын
I adjusted them for off-road so I can see what’s infront of me at a longer distance and wider angle. You shouldn’t use these on main roads with oncoming traffic that’s not what they are for.
