Thanks heaps for this video the ba xr6t I’m restoring/ updating/ upgrading had the single vents , so I wandered down the paddock to an xr6t parts car I have and it had twin vents So thanks for the tip Subscribed !!! 😂😅

You can do this job with just a screwdriver if your a povvo, or you could speed things up and be a proper executive - by using a trim removal tool and drill.

Ive owned 2 XR6's my first was a 2004 BA it had these double air vents, my second is a 2006 BF MKII which does not have these vents and frankly I'm glad it doesn't.. My BA XR was practically brand new when I bought it (only had 98,000 k's) it had an excellent AC system, AC max would literally freeze you and with these double air vents the lower vent was literally 3-4 inches from my knee .. I think you can see where I'm heading here... As it did not have a shut off door in the vent it would literally freeze my knee so much I could not use the AC max function... Sooo glad my BF does not have this....

Nice job with the video. I was wondering how did you find the trim peices to change the air vents or do you have the model numbers for those parts? Ford territorys would of that model would probably use the same to do you think? Keep up with the great videos they are a big help to people like me trying to learn about fixing things on my 06 BFII.

Hey mate thanks for your comment and for watching 👍 You will find the trim pieces on BAs mostly, that did have the 2 slot vents to begin with. When you grab the vents, grab the trim pieces too... I'm not sure whether these will match the ones on the Territory, but I'm assuming YES...

Don’t forget to upgrade the poverty ICC as I love to update my BF XT with a Fairmont Ghia or Fairlane speck dash plus door cards etc as I’ve got the station wagon

Hey mate how did you go removing all the bubbling paint on the handle inserts ?

Hey Dean. it's actually not paint but a metal wrap of sorts... I used a blade knife to start an edge, and then slowly peeled it all off by hand. It took about 30 minutes, but once the metal wrap is off, you can plastic prime those pieces and then paint and clear. Hope that helps 👍

Hey mate, the vents were $40 for the set from memory, and as far as materials, I got a can of Ford liquid silver, Acrylic clear, and 1500 grit sandpaper.

Hey Jerry, I used a can of silver auto body spray paint. Firstly I hit the plastic with a plastic primer, then silver auto body paint, then I cleared all the silver. Looks schmick, and the clear is protecting the silver from scratches 👍
