Installing Snow Guards on My Parent's 2 Story House

In this video, I help my parents install S-5 Brand Colorgard Snow Guards on their metal roof. By installing this snow retention system, we will eliminate the possibility of accumulated snow to slide off their roof and pile onto the ground surrounding their home. This will prevent the need for shoveling snow away from walls and doorways in the winter during heavy snowstorms. Instead, the snow will stay on the roof and slowly melt over time.

I live in a very windy area and replaced my shingles with a metal roof. Snow guards are well worth the money and i highly recommend them. Great work guys

I love the teamwork, especially with family. Here in SC we don't really get snow like you do, maybe an inch or two every five or six years if we are lucky. I can see how it would be very beneficial in your area. Beautiful property, I love the garden.

Outstanding video! Kudos to all of you and your mom is crazy...I can't stand heights! One thing I noticed is a vent pipe that should have a snow diverter on it. I lost two vent pipes and my chimney last year and they had snow diverters...now they have really heavy snow diverters.

I dont know if you mentioned it or not but they have different clamps to fit different profiles and the S5 fits some of the lower standing seam ones. being afraid of heights is not a bad thing, did you notice how confident your mom seemed on the roof. that was because she had better shoes to grip the panels. i have the same panels, same color and the same s5 clamps and the only thing i would say other than good job is ad another 6" or so on the bottom clamp to prevent the panels from trying coming apart. nice video, your family works well together.

Bèen there done that, put up acres of metal roof and smowguard...works well, but does compromise roof weight integrity and leak performance...good for certain applications
