This is a great video - thanks for posting. I followed it to rebuild a 150cc Chinese quad that had the same engine - using a new piston and barrel. Hopefully mine will now start/run but unfortunately there is another issue with the starter clutch which needs addressing. Thanks and regards from the UK.

I have a gokart that has a gy6 150cc and I just rebuilt it today but the big hole on the cam is facing Down towards the piston and and it was running good but smoked alot so that's way I rebuilt it. I rebuilt it the same way with CAM HOLE FACING DOWN TOWARDS PISTON. It runs but should I turn the cam around so hole is facing up towards steering wheel?? PLEASE HELP

It can't be 180° 'out', as it sparks on intake and exhaust.

You put the valve rocker on upsidedown! Ex facing upwards even tho you said put it downwards!

the torque is 14lbs for the head the 6mm head bolts are 7lbs. you need a bigger engine in that go cart.

Mostly i find them smoking due to cheap crap valve seals.

i bought a new 150 motor it doesnt run the valves were bent i put a new head on when i timed it like you did and you turned the flywheel to make sure it was right i did that and the valves were to tight. wtf?????

Best is to set intake at 0.003 and exhaust at 0.004 ..

I have the carter talon has the gy6 150 motor but mine has the two bolt valve cover an yours is four bolt anyone have leed to where I can find a top end kit
