Some modification required... Finally got the intake manifold mated to the head, it was not without it's troubles though. After last video, porting the runners, I had to modify the PCV breather block and add a new 2.0 style hose fitting.

Radium engineering makes a baffled pcv plate for all of the duratec motors that is VERY nice... They got my $$ and I wish I could buy more stuff from them as the products speak for themselves. Just my $0.02... Thanks for sharing!

Colored in Light the radium PCV plate is basically impossible to fit on a stock intake manifold

@@MegaNocca Have you tried? I'll admit I do have an aftermarket intake which I did at the same time but I don't see how it would be an issue the radium plate has a shorter profile than the stock plastic one... just curious...

Dave A It’s just the way you have to use AN fittings on the Radium and they’re pretty chunky. I have the 1 goal intake on the stock PCV plate but it’s just a known interference

Did you make sure to insert the PIN on the back of the engine 2 time the the balancing weight. That's the third timing mark area on this engine. The timing should be on the camshafts using the bar, centering the crankshaft wheel and inserting the Bolt through that crankshaft wheel lighting it up with the hole in the timing cover which you did. I just didn't see the third step of inserting the timing pin for the counterweight on the back of the engine

Just put my 06 NC back together after knock sensor and PCV replacement. Won't start. Cranks and revs high and dies instantly with heavy breathing sound. Pretty sure PCV hose came off while installing. You have luxury of space. If you were doing this in the car would you attach hose to dynamic chamber and try to slide it on to PCV while matting? Or have the hose on the PCV valve and try and get it on to the dynamic chamber while mating?

Which gasket do you use for the head and the intake manifold? The top of the manifold is like 8 mm do that the head intake is bigger. I need to eat up half of the 8 mm to fit properly. And if you see the Mazda steel gasket, I need to also eat up the gasket there’s not enough surface to seal properly

Hello from Romania. I started doing the swap myself. I have one question. We keep the "Oil separator"or how it's called (That piece of plastic that the pcv valve goes into) from the 2.5 engine or we port the part from the 2.0? Thank you very much!

I have a 2.5. are you swaping the manifold with one from a 2.0? Does the 2.0 manifold breathe better?

Well, it has to be the 2.0 one because the 2.5 manifold faces the wrong direction.

Oh I see. Lol I'm watching out of curiosity. I just got a 2011 Mazda 3 with 2.5 and I cannot find much on anyone building the 2.5 it's so weird
