We finally get the undercarriage undercoated and get that engine in there! We are getting there!

The underside now looks better than new and is very likely better protected than new. What a great transformation, looking forward to the last couple of videos where it drives out of the workshop.

Hi Ryan, to match the original finish that is rubberised I used a 3M Two Part Sprayable Sealer 08800, when I done my 911sc, with similar issues at the front only, it quietened down road noise and also stops stone chips as they bounce off, you also need the product specfic gun.

Ryan - i thought the rust converter leaves an epoxy coating?.. So why put etch primer over that? Etch primer should go on bare metal so the phosphoric acid can react and bond with the metal. No worries I guess its just belt and braces.. Anmd why not do seam sealing before the primer coat?..
@IOTWVUVWTOI2 ай бұрын
I'd guess to ensure the etch primer can get right into the small spaces for additional protection?

You do such great work. But it's the small things that let you down. As, ... You re fitted the front axle and steering and the engine dirty ?.. Why not after all that work doing the job right did you not clean the front axle and the engine? I really don't understand that. You do such really good work, but as I said it;'s the small things that let you down.....

Pretty much everything in the open part of the shop is going to be repainted and the air/dust/crud is going to get on them anyway, then it will all be cleaned, prepped and painted.

Why does dinotrol go purple if you have removed rust with the laser? Or did you not use the laser on this car.
@yorkshirecarrestoration2 ай бұрын
We used the laser on the inner sills and parts of the tub. But the purple is the epoxy costing that the rust converter creates
@garydowzall65922 ай бұрын
@@yorkshirecarrestoration Many thanks for response. I thought the purple colour only occurred where there was some rust. Any reason why you did not use laser on rear quarter to remove the small rust areas?
@lennym16362 ай бұрын
Why use rust convert-a on places where you can use the laser?
