If you don’t need to change the cooler you can get to the transmission lines by removing the driver side inner fender.

I just did this exact project on my ‘06 Cummins. That was a pain in the ass! I was able to move the washer fluid bottle, it made getting those fittings on/off fairly easy! The forward fitting on the trans drained quite a bit of fluid for me as well. Definitely would’ve been easier if I had a lift!

Yes, definitely not a fun one. Having a lift would make so many things so much easier! Hopefully get one in the future

Thanks for the video. I am looking into this repair for my 93 w 250 and my 06 Megacab. Curious how the lines have held up since you installed it?
@boosthuntergarage Жыл бұрын
They have held up great so far, no cracking or leaking

The line from the heat exchanger, which one does it go to on the trans cooler?
@boosthuntergarage2 жыл бұрын
I believe it would go to the line on the cooler that has the thermostat on it, I think it would work fine either way since it’s just making a loop. I used a cheap cooler that didn’t have the thermostat, so I just hooked it up. I will be changing it out for a better quality one eventually.

Does the orientation of the lines matter where they go on the cooler??
@boosthuntergarage7 ай бұрын
It shouldn’t matter because it’s just making a loop through it
@boosthuntergarage7 ай бұрын
Sorry I misspoke on that, if you have a better quality cooler it will have a thermostat on it and in that case you would want the supply from the transmission going into that and the return back to the transmission coming from the other. Mine was a cheap cooler which I regret buying

@@boosthuntergarage I bought the mishimoto, so right now I have the front of the transmission line (hot line) on the top port, and the back of the transmission on the bottom port. It’s wierd tho I’m seeing high temps still, no better than stock
@boosthuntergarage7 ай бұрын
@@Truecrimetuesday I would say you got the lines on there the right way. What kind of temps are you getting too?

Where did you buy the blue house
@boosthuntergarage2 жыл бұрын
The hose came with the kit from power driven diesel, ordered it off their website. I think you can buy just the hose from them too.

Fluid will constantly flow through the cooler and won’t be temperature controlled. Not necessarily a bad thing just if you live in a cold climate the transmission won’t warm up as fast

The longest line from the rear of the transmission, which one does it go to on the trans cooler ?
@boosthuntergarage Жыл бұрын
If it’s going all the way to the front cooler I don’t think it matters which one it goes to cause it’s just making a loop through the cooler
