FYI I have worked in the Auto industry in BC Canada for 30 years and never seen that style line that was installed without the safety clip. The plastic clip is very important as the metal clip is prone to getting stretched out of spec which could allow the line to disconnect under transmission line pressure. The safety clip will not fit over the metal clip if it is bent enough to not hold the line, the line can not disconnect from the metal clip if the safety clip is sitting properly against the fitting. Good presentation .

Always use the safety clip. I had a snap ring fail even through you could hear and see it clip in. Not fun with fluid all over the ground and a transmission that wouldn't shift or engage out several miles from town.

@@MotorCityMechanic Hey brotha got a tech question hope you can steer me in the right direction. Got a 15 ram 1500 hemi 8spd , had to replace the lines" 52014804AI " my question is on the transmission heater the 2 holes for the lines which is which ? Does the farthest hole on the heater does that line connect to the top or bottom line at the radiator? I can't find a clear diagram and not sure if I mixed them up. Basically which line is supply and return at both connection points, radiator and transmission heater. Any help would be amazing. Love your videos.

This was a huge help! Worked right away. The new radiator already has the C clips and O-rings installed, so I didn't have to transfer them, which was nice. But I'll probably grab them off the old radiator. Thanks for the super helpful video. Also saw your PT Cruiser timing belt and water pump replacement video and decided that it was way too involved for my skill set or available space, single car monthly rental garage. Just gonna leave that to the expert, but doing my own radiator and getting the transmission oil lines off was what was holding me up on another car I was working on.

This is the tenth and last video I feel the need to watch before I go work on my truck. You took the time to clearly show how it works and Why it works that way. And personally that's what really makes the difference in my understanding. The Why it works the way it does. Several other clips showed the same technique, most not as visible as this video. So thank you for a job very well done. I salute you sir

Thank you for the video! I have a cooler line that is dangerously close to rusting through so I bought replacements that have sat around collecting dust. I checked with some of those "master disconnect kits" and noone could confirm they had the correct tool anyway. The official mopar tool is somewhat hard to find and ridiculously expensive for what it is ($75-100+) If you don't have a pick set you buy some for a few bucks at harbor freight (I use mine all the time for removing o-rings during oil changes) Anyway, thanks again maybe now I'll finally get this job done!

Finally, Finally, Finally, somebody reveals the mystery, of the "Mystery Clip", the one that's Clipping the public with it's mystery. This is the only video I've found that shows up close what this and how to work it off/on. When something like this comes along and so many people won't explain it and there are no instructions on it's box, the reason for it is to Clip the Public for $$$$$. If nothing else then it's good for the transmission specialist when it leaks out all your transmission fluid on a freeway which also is a shot in the arm for the wrecker business. Thanks so much ! ! !
