I just received my downpipe in the mail. Is there a gasket for the turbo side of the pipe and do you re use the oem bolts for that side as well? Thanks

Did y’all torque the bolts/nuts from the down-pipe to the turbo to a certain spec? If so what were the specs, been looking online and can’t find anything yet. Or y’all just snug them on. Good video!

I see a number of people thermal thermal coating or putting on turbo blankets on their pipes on their R. Do you guys recommend doing that or is running the stock heat shields enough?

I don't represent MAPerformance, but it depends on your situation. Thermal/powder coating on the exhaust pipes would be just for heat management (not directly performance) to keep overall engine bay temps down. If you (daily) drive conservatively it may not be that important for you. Personally, I'm ceramic coating my downpipe/front pipe and I daily drive moderately with some track time. Hope that helps

I was able to remove the heat shield by removing the inlet pipe. We did that some time before this video was filmed and i did touch on it, however it didnt make the final cut! -tiny

What if its just the front pipe? Am aware the downpipe will make the huge difference in sound but what about the front pipe on its own? Planning to purchase a fp since downpipes are illegal in Australia.

You will not need a tune, but you may be leaving a bit of power and response on the table without one!

It's highly recommended to have the car tuned after swapping the downpipe, however we go a bit more in depth in the next video!

You need to shut off the 02 on the downpipe - with no cat its sending the error code/cel Also - get a real tune - e30 makes all the difference

Yes! On our site you can choose to have the flange style match the factory exhaust!
