Installing the toner cartridge (and drum) in the Brother HL-L2350DW wireless laser printer

This is a quick video showing the initial installation of the drum and toner cartridge.. not a lot to it.. just align it the right way and push in firmly, green label/tab on the outside.

So far so good, after connecting to the wifi using the WPS pairing mode (meaning I didn't need to enter a long wifi password) my iPad was able to print to it straight way. It was a fast print too! Quality was what you'd expect for a laser printer.. nice and crisp, even when it was set to the default 600dpi.
Printing from a Windows 7 laptop wasn't so smooth.. Windows saw the printer but failed to install the drivers (multiple times). The drivers from the Brother website didn't help either. Gave up and tried the day after, switching the printer on when Windows was running.. it saw the printer and installed the drivers.. weird!!
Windows 10 worked first time.. just went to Printers and added it.
Although power usage is relatively low (6w on wifi standby/sleep, 0.6w in deep sleep) I prefer to turn it off until I need it.. hit the power button for 4-5 sec and it can be turned off completely (reduces consumption to 0.03w).
The 3rd party toner I've used in my Brother HL-L2350DW without any issues is here amzn.to/2QPpB3k - I can't guarantee they'll work with yours, nor that Brother haven't updated the firmware to detect them, but they worked fine for me & I currently have one installed and working. Worth a go.. since you get 2x for about £30, and you can return them if they don't work.
Equally applies to the Brother HL-L2340DW, HL-L2375DW, HL-L2370DN, HL-L2300D

Thanks for the video. The video was very helpful and concise. Just looking at the casing of the printer it is not clear where to put the toner cartridge and then I went to the opposite side and did not understand why it did not go in. The funniest thing I thought was the opening in the back and I ordered an original 3000 page cartridge and because I looked at the wrong opening of the printer so I could not find the drum that clicks into the toner and without it it is impossible to insert the toner. So to my surprise today I watched a video after ordering an original 3000 page toner and an original new drum, so I opened the right opening and found the old toner attached to the original new drum and realized I had unnecessarily ordered an original new drum that I left with in the closet. Funny story, if I was watching the video in front of you then I would have saved myself time and money, I would have saved $ 100 on the new dr2400 drum because my new printer was bought a year ago. Not bad from learning mistakes. I do want to conclude that I am really happy with the printer, it is fast, professional, economical, easy to use. I buy her the tN2420 toner of the 3000 page and I have no headache to replace every six months a pair of black and color ink cartridges when only black color runs out on my previous printers. Anyway, you got both a funny story and a warm recommendation for the HL-L2350dw printer. With an easy search on the Internet, it is possible to order original and affordable toner, and the same goes for the original drum. Those who want to save then can order a compatible or replacement product, but I do not recommend. I am elad from israel and If I had watched the video a few days ago then I would have realized that I did not throw the dr 2400 drum in the bin along with the old toner, as I thought then I would not have ordered an original and new drum unnecessarily.

Brilliant, I’m glad this video helped, and that you like the printer. We love ours too.. it’s been great in lockdown for printing out worksheets for the kids. The best thing is knowing that (because it’s an laser printer) it’ll never end up with clogged jets, like our inkjet did due to infrequent use. The only complaint I get from the family is it doesn’t print in colour.. I tell them to colour it in 🤣

@@Endpoint101 You need to tell them - imagine that all the pages with black ink turn into pages with color ink. "Imagine there's no color ink, it's easy if you try No hell below us, above us only sky Imagine all the black ink become color ink today ..". If you run out of dr2400 drums, I'll send you the "new original drums" for free (as a thank you for the video) to wherever you are. I still have nothing to do with it at the moment, other than store it in the closet.

Do not feel uncomfortable, it is still sitting in the closet and according to my calculation it will be in the closet for another 7 years, so I would be happy if it is used by someone else and so something good came out of my mistake. Send me your exact address and I will send the original dr2400 drum. I do not know how to send a private message here, so you can send me your address there. Maybe you know ... in any case send me your exact address including the zip code and all the related details, because I with my mistakes am able to send the dr2400 drum to "Doland Trump" and they will think it's a bomb.

Thank you, but I’m good for now.. since we use it so sporadically, the drum has loads of life left in it.. I reckon we’ll be good for another 5 or more years or more :)
