Trunk popper mod was one of the first ones I did. You get used to the extra force needed to close really quick. Super convenient to have it pop out that quick 🔥

That washer is for the very rear mount of the trunk hardware (located under the trunk lift). It’s to angle the trunk a little bit since the popper is pushing on the lid more. According to MX5things, they have upgraded the spring to a stronger one cause mine wouldn’t open with factory spoiler.

Does yours have a large factory spoiler? Mine has the small spoiler

Don't have a Miata but nice mod Q! If the latch is in the center of trunk you might try pressing down on the center of lip to see if will latch without slamming. Just a thought.

I’m currently installing a mod in my nc1 Mx-5!! I’m installing a 2.5 engine swap to my nc Mx-5.. after I finish (other mods) it should be making around 210-215 whp! Can’t wait to get it finished. Plus my nc came with hood popper struts and it makes a huge difference.. make it instead of these for my NC as well.

You know I'm going to find out where those U-shaped washers go. They are for realigning the trunk lid after installation. The don't go on the spring assists at all.
