The homestead is breathtaking. Priscilla's dinner looked awesome. I think I'd let that window company know about their mistake. If you had been on a job that you had estimated , I think you'd have lost money on labor. Very frustrating , for sure !

There is no way to watch your video without making a comment. I’ve been impressed with your family since I started watching your personal journey prior to moving to Alaska. You have a beautiful faith, an obvious love and care for each other and a work ethic that is exceptional. All of your family members have helped with building this particular log cabin, it belongs to them. The twins work better and harder, more so than many adult men in our current society. I know you will continue on the path you are on, the one our Father has designed and laid out for you.

Had to share your video and recommend this channel to some more friends today. Gave a bit of an overview of the channel and this build which amazes people every time the quality and work ethic to get so much accomplished in such a short time. My friend I shared with today said that if he's ever able to he'd hire you to build for him and his family. Growing up in the Mennonite culture we understand work ethic much like the Amish and see the lack of it in general in the majority of society. So glad to see there ar more teaching their kids to have work ethics and work hard for things rather than just feeling entitled without any work.

I must say I’m very impressed with your teenage sons! Any teen I know would be getting tired within a few hours and starting to whine for a break so they could have fun playing games on their smart phones or goofing off in some way. But, no! Your sons are working like grown adult men! However, you are wise parents-you schedule family hikes, fishing trips and other fun activities for them, so I’m sure that helps them stick with the build the rest of the week. But, even so, I’m still impressed and amazed with their fortitude. Joas, another great teaching video-and to prove I’m learning, I began to question how the sides of the window frames with the angle iron could do their job during settling if they were screwed to the logs at both top and bottom! But after you secured the top board, completing the now very tight frame, you removed those side screws and it made perfect sense! Priscilla, both filets of salmon looked mouth-watering delicious! Would you consider sharing your recipes? Or better yet, how about a future cookbook? I would certainly buy one!

Wow Wow 👌 looking Good 👍, with that foam walls will help alot , I worked with a Christian Brother and friend and we put in foam blocks in some houses 🏘 and I like the idea 💡. Down in Mexico 🇲🇽 I went on a mission trip to build a church ⛪️ building and they used foam blocks , the reason to help with insulation for it to be cooler and that when a earthquake happens it'll only be less to hurt people when it comes down like alot of there buildings are made of concrete. On your windows isn't there a weeping hole at the bottom of the window even if the manufacturer put the stickers upside down the weeping holes will be correct. Also I love ❤️ the floor being run with pexs piping wonderful stuff .

minor hack, place a pvc cut out 1inch pipes.. into the holes in the beams .. before you add and pull in the pex piping.. its easier compared to pex pipe without the pvc cut out.. you can leave e'm in the I-beams.

I noticed the in floor heating water tubes and the wires run through your floor joists. Where I live the code says you can’t drill holes through floor joists because it weakens them. I was just curious. I’m enjoying watching your house being built. Thanks for sharing.

These actually have knockouts that are intended for this very purpose but we ignored those and made our own. I think we’re OK on strength!

I really like the way you build. I built a log home back in 1979 nothing like your logs but it is still very nice. My logs are flat on the inside and a radius curve on the outside with a drip edge on the bottom of the log. Nice log I like your way much better. I put my windows if very differently than you, I screwed my from the inside not the outside. In my area people would unscrew the window and break in and rob me blind.

The windows were my favorite part , love windows especially Anderson , that’s what we used in our three new builds . Couldn’t help but notice the beautiful backdrop in each window view . Those white barked trees . I am wondering if your heating tubes aren’t up against the floor ? We had in floor heat in one of our homes and it got almost to hot . I think my husband turned the water temperature down.
