I thought about ordering a glass lid on amazon, but the price threw me a little bit off. So I traced the top of the stainless steel pot and combined my grocery store run with visiting 4 thrift stores in town. BINGO! The 4th one (my favorite one, they always have what I am looking for, but it's at the other end of town) had a t-fal glass lid ** for 2 Dollars !! ** , that fits perfectly on the 6qt Instant Pot AND on my 6 qut t-fal Clipso. It even has silcone coating on the handle. Somebody just donated it a couple of days ago, they have date stamps on the price stickers, it was just waiting for me!

Good morning. Ideas for the boiling inserts. Asparagus. The bottom part of the asparagus is much tougher than the rest of the stalk. With those baskets, you could boil the tough part while steaming the upper portion. Also, spaghetti....maybe.

One accessory I find invaluable is a silicone lid for the inner sleeve. It allows me to do a batch of food for the dogs and then put the whole thing in the fridge.

I bought the nesting set of stainless steel containers via your link. First try with them I put in white rice. It is now solidly vacuum glued shut. Cannot get it open without permanently damaging the vessel. Just to let you know, there was a cup of water in the instant pot. It was not overcooked. It was not overfilled. Hopefully no one else will waste 32 bucks. I will use the remaining two for cold storage leftovers.

In the video I also show how I pop the suction with a butter knife.

I have the short trivet & use it for HC eggs every week. Instant breakfast or snacks and great for deviled eggs because the yolks pop right out and don't turn green.

A neighbor was throwing away their TV armoire. Their boys played football and broke the door. Imagine how happy I was to rescue it. I put two extra shelves. The top, where the vcr etc went is deep enough for my cookie sheets, cooking racks, and parchment paper. It was strong enough for the old tv so it definitely holds my mixer, etc. I’ve added two more shelves and now I’ve given half a shelf to my IP toys. The damage the kids did actually makes it look more antique and distressed. Lucky me. Can we see the recipe for those waffles? Such a cutey.

One thing you don't have which I have found to be incredibly useful is the Steamer Basket for 6 or 8 Quart Instant Pot Pressure Cooker, Sturdy Stainless Steel Steamer Insert with Silicone Covered Handle, Great for Steaming Vegetables Fruits Eggs. Since you have baby on way my fave instant pot hack. Het 1/2 pint jars fill with whatever fruit/veg wanted. Cook in instant pot on steam rack (I can fit about 6 in at a time) then add liquid and screw on standard blender blade cans blend in jar. Screw on lid pop in fridge and taxa you have a weeks worth of baby food proportioned. ( I hated portioning baby food into containers when I would make a full blenders worth at once). Hope that made dance.

Thanks for sharing all your accessories. I used the insert for any ingredients that I don't want in my soup after cooked. So after cooked the soup, I remove the ingredients. Or you can cook the potato or carrots in it and remove and mash for other recipes

The triangular steamers would be good for blanching vegetables. Or steaming veggies separate..not everyone likes their veggies mixed. Corn on the cob, green beans cauliflower, broccoli.

The 2 inserts that you had to bend the side down. Steamed shrimp. I put about 2 inches of ginger in the bottom sliced up. The ginger makes the shrimp taste so sweet and really make them pink, Aldo crabs, lobster am not going to try. I do put ginger when I steam them on the stove.

I have some of the accessories that you have and I like some of them more than others. I will get the egg cooker thingy. I like the possibilities since I am on a ketogenic diet with all the extras!!! Hi... enjoyed your video on accessories and the insight that an IP cabinet might be in order...Ha ha I noticed in the comments and in the video itself a request for uses of the triangle-ish inserts from Ikea. How about as a strainer when boiling bones for broths and soup bases? What came to mind when I first saw them was for boiling and flavor dipping for noodles (cooked of for cooking in the sieve) then draining for use. You then can add the desired amount of soup on top of the noodles along with any other prepared ingredients..... think pho’, a Vietnamese style soup dish or for spaghetti, vermicelli (rice or wheat based) or Ramen. Tell me, do these ikea model of in-pot strainer also stack... meaning can you use one inside another.... as this would greatly help with instant draining and presenting cooked noodles? Big Pho’ and Ramen fan here. I imagine you can also blanche/boil different veges simultaneously as well......... with these SS cooking/ strainer type tools. Thanks for all you work here..... its very useful!

skip the glass lid for your 8 qt. and buy a silicone lid instead. you can use it for more than slow cooking. also get yourself the ceramic non-stick inner-pots. they are very good quality and don't scratch easily. great for slow cooking tomato sauce, etc without leaching toxic things like nickel into your food.

There are complaints that a magnet held to the $35 ekovana stackable pots sticks, indicating they are NOT stainless steel. In the questions section seller replied it is a lower food grade SS from India. I see 2 sets of these stackable pans @ $20 (one of them indicating only 6 left but w/no reviews). Wish we knew more about sellers offering IP accessories.

Getting more use out of my presure cooker every week. I found a glass lid that fits the "pot" part in a pile of fishes I had piled up for godwill. Fits great and really helps when browning meats to keep splatter in the pot. One ?, i want to cook two different items in my pot to help save time and get dinner ready all at once. Is it OK to run the pressure pot with both items inside, let it cook the first cycle time, remove that portion then put on lid and add more time to finish the other food item?
