I thought this would be good but man was it AWESOME! I vegetarian and don't eat meat so I made the recipe as is except I deleted the chicken. After the Instant Pot was through I added soy chicken strips in and it was ready to eat!

I've made this recipe 3 times since it was published. I've made many of Jeffrey's recipes and have loved them all. My kids request the sausage and peppers often, so we will be making it this week . Thank you!

There was a time where going out for a meal was a treat. We've reduced out trips to restaurants to once a month or even less. Prices have gotten to where we can't justify it any longer... don't even mention scammy delivery services like Uber Eats and Door Dash.

I've made this recipe twice and it is incredible! The first time I used some spinach and artichoke tzatziki which was good, but then I added some store bought dill pickle dip and it was a definite improvement. I'll need to try using some homemade dip next time as I'm sure it'll make it next level, but this is such a wonderful dish and my house smells like the blend of seasonings for the half a week after.

A new family favourite to add to the list. I have all four of your cookbooks and am looking forward to more. Side note: I have a non-stick pot in my pressure cooker so I find I use a quarter of the butter or oil called for. Also invested in a bay bush. Fresh bay leaves, omg!

This looks pretty tasty. I will have to get some Basmati rice for it, since I don't have any in the house at the moment (5 OTHER kinds of rice, but not that one!) but I have everything else. Time to try a new recipe! (The Sausage Curls recipe is a HUGE favorite in this house, to the point that the recipe is just attached to the front of the fridge with magnets, pretty much permanently.)

Was the singer Anya? That looks delicious. I've been participating in a Meal Train and I think that is the sort of dish that the family I'm helping out would enjoy. I'm going to make a test run to see if I think their kindergartener will enjoy it this coming weekend. I've been trying to find recipes that they all can eat since there are severe food allergies in the family (so no nuts for them!) But I think raisins might make a lovely add-in.

Looks delish and I will try soon. Question: So is it Brianni? Your headline for it may be spelled incorrectly. Birany?
@EbonRaven10 ай бұрын
Biryani is not misspelled. That's the correct spelling. You can check pretty easily by just googling it and seeing just how many Biryani recipes you find from Indian cooks.

Thank you. I guess the spelling and the pronunciation are different.

I am going to try this recipe. I think that shrimp would be a good addition to chicken but I wonder how long it would take for shrimp to cook and not to get too tough, or would it be better to add shrimp separately after biryani is finished?
@Ozziecatsmom10 ай бұрын
I think adding the shrimp after would be better. It would be overcooked if put in before cooking the rice. It would taste good I think.

For a more authentic Indian taste, at least allow the onions to caramelize in the ghee before moving forward with the chicken and spices. I honestly can’t think of an Indian dish that only brings the onions to the translucent stage 🥰 I love your recipes, and have your books, but this one was just too far off from authentic Bhiryani.
