Looks good but why remove the carrots and onions with the drainer and why not add the carrots and onion after draining the other stuff 🤔

At that point, those vegetables have had their flavour extracted and are so well done that their consistency is rather mushy. You could, however, press them through a sieve to add to the sauce but the effort won't improve it by much. Without them, the sauce is silky smooth - I know, I made some last night. Mmmmm......
