So I made this and it is absolutely delish. And I didn't even make it right the first time I made a few mistakes. Adding the peppers in my opinion is vital for me as I love hot stuff. I made a huge pot and froze them in individual servings and they fed me for a month. I also made and froze balls of sweet potato roti dough. yum. I am making my second batch today.

Hi Anadi! Thank you for sharing about the lentil colors! I just have found the different colors take different times to cook. Does the peel has something to do with that? Yes you’re right the different lentils do take various cook times! I have a chart on my website explaining this! The peel is part of it, you’re right! There are split peas and whole with their shells dal. This is quick since it’s a split pea, whereas whole urad dal for instance does take awhile!
