"K, you're going to be in this situation...I'm feeding me, I'm feeding my husband, and my dog, and if they don't like my mouth on it, they can feed themselves" I LOVE your videos because they're easy to understand and you're so down-to-earth. I have the same Instant Pot and circulator and was unsure how to get started - thank you for demystifying this process for me! I am now confident enough to try this! Also, thank-you for the information regarding vacuum-sealing seafood. I appreciate that you provide the important technical aspects in a way that is easy to understand.

*🤪🤪Great value for the money. Got this for my son and **MyBest.Kitchen** he made a 3 lb beef tenderloin for Christmas dinner. 😊😊😊Best filet I've had outside a top end steakhouse. ✅✅✅So good, I bought 2 for myself.*

Thanks for this great video. I just got an instant pot for my birthday. Been too scared to use it yet. I specifically wanted the 10 in 1 model because of the sous vide option. I've always wanted to try sous vide. And now I know how! So thank you. You've got a new subscriber 🙂

If you already have an Instant Pot, is there a need for the circulator/heater accessory? My 8qt IP holds 135F on the Keep Warm (less) setting. I put a trivet in the bottom, and my steak-in-bag on top of the trivet.
@Twosleevers
@Twosleevers 4 жыл бұрын
I don't think there is, tbh if you have an instant pot Ultra or Duo you don’t need one. Those two can be set at custom temperatures. The other duo and Lux pots may home 135 bit that won’t be enough for much other than steak really sometimes the temperature with the IP varies a degree or two. I am not such a purist that the 1-2 degrees bothers me. It still makes great food
@thestomach
@thestomach 4 жыл бұрын
@@Twosleevers For reference, on my 8qt Duo, Keep Warm does 135 on "less," 145 on "normal," and 165 on "more."

You should use the food saver bag because they are bpa free and heat safe. Plastic in heat release chemical.

You have the sous vide on your Insta pot do you still need to use a stick for Sous vide
@Twosleevers
@Twosleevers 4 жыл бұрын
Gloria Williams tbh unless you’re a purist who cares about 2-5 degrees here or there you may not. The sticks do heat water a little faster.

I saw a video of someone cooking a 1 inch steak with this method. Seems like a waste of time to wait 90 minutes + sear, when you could cook that steak in the pan in about 6 minutes. I do see the value in cooking much thicker steaks with this method.

in all honesty, I asked myself the SAME question. For me, cooking ribs or brisket for days on end made no sense at all. The only thing I can say to you is try it. For steaks, the even cooking makes a very very tender steak. Much better than a pan cooked one. I still haven't bothered with the days long cooking for brisket however. My smoker wins every time.

@@Twosleevers I may try it, but I don't see it comparing to an aromatic butter basted steak , in a cast iron pan. I like a nice crust.

Why would you sous vide a Ribeye? It cooks in 20 minutes the regular way. I'd like to see this done with a chuck steak or sirloin to see the difference. Thank you

Ha Ha I love what you said about who your feeding. Brilliant! Some people just have to bitch. Thanks for the lesson. Does sous vide work on cheaper cuts to make them tender? Like say english cut?

I love your wooden spoon, it's a cricket bat 😂🏏 No really, that's a cricket bat, more or less. A mini one, not a real full size one, but it's the exact same shape and proportions. And cricket bats are all made of wood. I love the idea though, buy a cricket bat to use for cooking lol. Would be handy if you're cooking in a restaurant with gigantic saucepans I mean I know in parts of the US, you literally use a floor mop to baste BBQ meat as it's cooking. You get all the mop sauce and cover the meat in it. So with that context, using a cricket bat as a massive wooden spoon for cooking is no weirder than that

Loved the video but animal cells don’t have a cell wall, they have a cell membrane. Plant cells have cell walls. Pedantic I know, but it was killing me.

Why do you speak so bloody quickly. It's like a Gatling gun. Breathe please. Give us time to listen. No lid on lots of evaporation and poor temperature control. You also did not dry your steak before sauté (essential) otherwise it tends to boil and you did not cut it open for us to see the "doneness" Not very good for showing the basics to somebody.
