He's a professional athlete, even if he hated Sheldon Keefe, no one would ever just quit playing for a team....in the playoffs no less. Come on man! I hope he gets better soon. @@smokinjoe45 Agree. He's, no doubt about it, injured, not just 'ill'. Could have been when he was tackled behind the Leaf net in that earlier game, or when he seemed to come up a bit gingerly after falling in front of the Bruin's net (maybe in that same game). Leafs have to suck it up and work twice as hard. They can do it. It's a matter of will, now, boys!

At least we'll know if the Bruins eliminate the Leafs, we'll find out what exactly was keeping Matthews and Nylander from playing. In any case, the Leafs have got to find a way to win without Matthews. Its very doable if the other stars step it up. Marner needs to be better. Woll has to be phenomenal. The other guys need to step it up.

I'm not disappointed. I think it helps. Remove a man's crutch, you'll often find he can stand on his own two feet just fine. That's how this team is without Matthews. They show more "snot" when he's out.

this power play issue they have has got to stop. watching the games, you dont even get excited when they get one. that's just sad but its true. you almost get the opposite feeling when they get one, seriously it does nothing where usually a power play is one of the most exciting things to happen during a game. same with the 2 goal thing, love the leafs but with the roster i mean man, enough is enough, start lighting up the scoreboard like you can. makes no sense, you cannot expect a deep run only throwing up 2 goals a game. especially if they past boston, every other team they can match up with puts up goals. i dont get it. cmon guys, let game 6 be day 1, leave all behind you and just give er. cmon boys.

I was thinking it could be vax related as well. How many soccer players and other athletes have had issues due to this. Toews could possibly still be playing but he’s never been the same after his, and it ended his career. I hope that’s not the case for him, for anyone for that matter.

The Leafs really didn't even play that good in game 5. Boston had 2 shots on net in 25 mins of hockey. Some of the worst hockey they played all season long. The Bruins have been consistent all season. There is no way they come out an play that bad again. Anything is possible in the playoffs but its hard to believe Toronto will win tonight.
