It’s year 3 and yet this team is identical to the 6-7 team in year one. Both teams made catastrophic mistakes that doomed us in games that we should win. Good point actually. If the other team has the ball with under 2 mins and it's a 1 score game it's an automatic loss. Heck, it could be a 2 score game and they'll still lose. The way they fumble the ball in every position group they give the opposing offense twice as many chances to score during incredibly short periods of time. The way this team is coached the ability for the game to go south at a record amount of time is just unbelievable. I love Brent and I would love him as the defensive coordinator but it's obvious at this point he's not capable of managing every area at even a moderate level.

I was at the game, OU is a terribly coached team. Keeping BV is just going to make us fall farther behind the rest of the SEC, he’s a really bad head coach. This team will invent ways to lose, Mizzou tried to give the game away and we refused to take it. I’ve been watching football my entire life, I’m 55 yo and I know a terribly coached team when I see one, why is Xavier Robinson not the #1 running back? The play calling was an embarrassment, the decisions on who to play, I’ve never seen a worse offense in my life, BV has to go ASAP, as soon as the final whistle blows on the last game find a new HC.

We have to keep in mind that BRENT VENABLES never asked to be the head coach at the UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA they asked him, WHATS THE DIFFERENCE? The difference is that "HE WAS ASKED" which means that he took a position that he probably wasn't mentally ready for but accepted, remember THEY WENT TO HIS HOUSE TO GET HIM and i do believe that Brent was a panic hire and a safe hire as far as loyalty, if "HE WOULD HAVE ASKED" means that he was mentally ready for the job and the responsibility which i believe he never was, it's something that he accepted BUT wasn't fully ready there is a reason he has never looked to be a head coach before now.

Switzer taught us defense wins games; Venables has taught us offense can lose games.

I get this season is frustrating for OU fans, but firing a homegrown guy like Venables in year 1 of SEC play could destabilize the program long-term. OU got royally screwed with their conference schedule. In the Big 12 this team is probably 7-5 or 8-4. Next year's schedule is the same, but flipped. I would give Vebables one more year to see if he can improve on this year. If not, then fire him. This next offseason, go hard at finding an experienced QB to at least compete for a starting role. Throwing freshman out with no experience with a new OC didn't go well. With the defense OU has, a slightly capable QB makes a huge difference.

I don't want to hear about the defense. The defense is fine, in fact I dont know if I've ever been more proud of a group in OU history. With what they have to deal with weekly, the absolute depression the OU offense puts them under.

Sadly, neither Jackson Arnold nor Michael Hawkins is a legitimate SEC caliber qb. Kevin Sperry isn't having a great year his senior year in high school. I don't think he is the answer. Without a really really qb, we have no chance of winning in this conference. It's not happening this year, but we need to find someone before next year.
