An average college quarterback and OC could have led this team to 9-10 wins and the team would be in every game. Jackson Arnold is a turnover machine. I've never seen anything like it. He fumbles when it's a called run, fumbles when he's sacked.... he's even thrown a fumble. It's impressive.

I went to my first OU game in 1964. I’ve seen the great years and great players. Then also the John Blake years. This season to me is the biggest disappointment of all because 7 weeks ago the talk was “playoff”. Ranked in the Top 10. Brent V needs to go. No more legacy hires like him or Littrell. Start fresh like we did with Bob Stoops. Hate to say it but Arnold is the worst QB we’ve ever had at OU. Ever. Joe C screwed the Sooner Nation by giving Venables a raise and extension. His buyout is $48 Million. Unbelievable. I think we need a new AD as well.

I think I was at that same game with you in 1964. I don't know what to say. It seems we can't catch a break this year. I watched that final series closely from an outcoaching perspective. I don't think BV was outcoached. I just think this has been a fragile year with a young quarterback and a very young quarterback. To be fair, you and I both know that our defense has not been this strong in 20 years. You know it's true. Finding a quarterback's coach and a brilliant offense minus a year of tragic injuries may be the answer. I think we could find a place to be positive. I've noticed so many teams having to deal with NIL. I wouldn't want to be in their shoes, would you? You and I remember when kids came to OU for their college careers. Now, it's all a transaction with know guard rails. Remember when the spring game was so much fun because we'd see the new freshmen and speculate how great they'd be when they matured? Can we find a space in our hearts to feel that way about Jackson Arnold and cut BV a little slack?

From what I’ve watched, the defensive staff has been late signaling the call in all season. I don’t know how many times the opposing team has snapped the ball while the defense was still looking to the sideline and scrambling to communicate and to get set.

QB 11-Two massive mistakes that shows his youth, his immaturity and his lack of awareness. The final play of the game he was running around as if he had only 1 thing in mind which was the lateral play. Get that 1st down and slide. Call the TO and live for the Hail Mary play. The other was his scramble at the end of the game and his lack of awareness and game situation made him get tackled and fumbled the ball for the winning score for the other team. UNREAL! Ball security is a discipline issue. It's caused by coaches not teaching details, i.e. bad coaching. Bad discipline is also the reason why so many players give up on plays before the whistle. This directly leads to lost balls. Like the one lost muff, guys assumed it was an easy fair catch and broke off the play early before the whistle. This made them out of position to not be able to make a play on the loose ball. Guys are constantly just standing there or walking while the play is extending beyond them.

I'm not a hater of BV but I never thought he was the right fit. I think he is a genius defensive coach and it stops there. Because I never thought he was ready to be a head coach some people are and some people are not. And in my opinion he is not ready. After the first year and up everybody kept saying he's at Lincoln Riley's players blah blah blah but now this is on him this is what he's paid the big bucks. He's the top brass he makes a final call these are his players and his coaches. He always pulls the somber reverse psychology card.. it's all my fault so people will get off of him. Firing Littrel to me was just to divert and project everything off of him. He needs to go with the rest of the staff and the A.D. In the 26 years I have lived in Oklahoma, Blake was released, Stoops was hired. Four Heisman Trophy winners. One National Championship was earned. Including the 18 years Stoops coached. Venables can coach players to win, probably not every game, in the SEC. Firing everyone now provides nothing positive for the players and program. But it will provide a sense of satisfaction for some of the fan base. Most fans that comment weekly in these forums, have never played or more importantly, coached at the level Venables is at. Sometimes the expectations for a sports program from the fans exceeds the actual results of the program. With the beloved Stoops, it was 18 years of coaching the program, with only one NC trophy, which is ultimately what every administrator, player, coach and fan, says is the goal of the season, regardless of how attainable that is.
