Diago Carlos has been slack for too long now & i wouldn't play him unless we were forced to,i agree with you Frankie about starting Kosta Nedeljkovic at RB & having Konsa partner Pau iat CB. A very poor performance from the team overall today & missed a good chance to go 2nd on goal difference, typical Villa,if we play like that on Wednesday vs Bayern Munich we'll get slapped up proper,i hope the lads get their shit together & play well in our next 2: fixtures before the terrible international break........ up the mighty Villa!!! ☹️⚽👎

All good points made in the comments and share the frustration & disappointment. We have to be more daring in these matches when we have the dominance quality and recovery capability. too much lateral/back safe possession save for thrusts by Rogers and penetrative balls by Tielemans but not enough of that. Agree Konsa has to be R centre back - he does not play well as a right back tucking inside and poor give away instead of giving simple ball to Jaden then caught out of defensive position on the counter for the Ipswich 2nd goal exposing Carlos frailties. Duran was headless when he came on as he is prone to be without going wide on both sides to send in crosses for him. CL on everyone's minds? Understandable! Hopefully Mings can tighten things up at the back soon. Thanks Emi - again!

Dead right very! casual and sluggish performance, no decisiveness. Almost like a pre season game - including the atmosphere - very dtrange game - expected a draw but not in this manner - Keep up being the new Sports Argus( you are probaly too young to remeber the "pinkie newspaper paper" that came out 1 hour after a game , but your legend of an uncle will rember Frankie " - great summary , great insights and reflections - keep it up.

Diego Carlos was crap. The referee was crap. Villa were poor. We did not have a single corner in the match. Emi Martinez kept us in the match. Otherwise we would have had our arse handed to is. Uni needs to kick arse hard. UTV.

Definitely not at the races today, Konsa went for glory rather than give philogene the ball in great position and f@cked us. As you said ref had two chances to send their mid off and bottled it which I think would been game over.

We let the game be way more end to end than it should have been. It's a bit alarming how easy it is for opponents to be running freely at our defence at the moment. Even though there's a major issue at right back/right centre back, I think we're crying out for Kamara, also. I don't think Onana is offering enough in possession at the moment and a lot of his passes are either too safe or not accurate enough and putting his team mates under pressure. Potentially we could see Amadou and Boubacar with Tielemans further forward? I also wonder if we might see Barkley, Onana & Tielemans all start on Wednesday to have a bit more midfield presence. Anyway, a disappointing display, but at least we didn't lose. And we had 12 points after 6 games last season, so things can't be too bad! Bring on Bayern and UTV!

Spot on Frankie 💯 Can’t defend or keep clean sheets we're the gift that keeps giving. To slow in starts is a problem and always playing catch-up. That RCB and RB is a issue. Bailey and Ramsey not giving us much. Might be a suprise to a few , but I reckon we're missing Diaby out wide to.

We had no width in that team. I kept shouting bloodyyy crossss the balll. All they do is go wide and pass back or do fancy feet and loose the ball. We looked second best for majority of 2nd half and maatsen was brought way too late. Why take off watkins? With two big strikers we coud have just bloody crossed the balll and there would have been much better chance of scoring.

Yeah, it was a rare day where I'm not sure Unai got things quite right. Buendia maybe should have been on a bit longer. Lack of incision out wide was frustrating. UTV!

A very good point in the end. The defence problems are becoming a joke now. Would love to be a fly on the wall as Emery analyses those sloppy conceded goals with the players.

Villa were lucky today. A dreadful mistake by Jakob Greaves and a miss by 2 goal Liam DeLap when he should have scored saved you. Thanks for your kind comments about Ipswich. Villa will have to improve dramatically to get any result against Bayern. I hope you do.

As an Ipswich fan I thought any points today are an unexpected bonus, so very happy. Sammy should have been red carded, if you want to earn easy cash, just bet on him to get booked most weeks, will finish the season with 15+ yellows, is the way he plays. Hope you boys get top 4 again, is good to see you and Newcastle up there instead of the established 6. We just need to turn the odd draw into three points and we will be okay. Do currently feel there are at least three worse teams than us. Just need United to stick with ETH and not try and pouch McKenna.

Agree with your over-all review. In my opinion the issues we saw today have been there simmering since the first game of the season. That was such a below par mediocre performance and I'm disappointed with the individual players that I can't even be bothered to critique them or find any positives. Best just to move on - Emery will be blasting a layer of skin off that team no doubt. btw well done to Ipswich, they were every bit of a threat as I thought they'd be - really impressive and a breath of fresh air. They deserved the point and frankly all 3 if I am being honest. They are going to be a hard team to beat, and I genuinely hope they stay up.
