I'm a 66 year old very active retiree. I've had SI pain events on and off for 50 years! I've always been treated by an Osteopathic Doctor for a SI adjustment while being in agonizing SI pain. My doctor retired this year ... and a SI pain event occurred. After several days and sleepless nights in excruciating SI pain and desperate , I went to KZbin to see if I could help myself alleviate the PAIN. I found these exercises and performed just two sets and waited for the TYLENOL to wear off. NO PAIN? NO WAY! Thinking the TYLENOL hasn't worn off after twelve hours ... I waited and waited until I started to believe in miracles. I'm a new man with four powerful exercises I can perform in five minutes! THANK YOU and THANK YOU! I will follow you for life!

Riding an upright bicycle is a great low impact way to exercise the muscles around the sacrum. Recumbent bikes and trikes encourage sitting on the tailbone while pedaling, so I wouldn't suggest either.

I feel you. I spent $10's of thousands on massage, MRI's, x-rays, multiple chiros, PT, and orthopedics over the years. I have two tiny bulges in my l4 and l5 (3mm and 2mm) and thats what everyone said was wrong with me but I tried telling them all the pain is in my hips (front and back) and goes into my testicles and down my thighs but nothing beyond the knee. Anyway, long story short, during one of my stretching sessions a couple of days ago I found a Bob & brad video about the SI joint and have reduced my pain by 25% in 3 days doing the exercises I've found on these videos. I can't belive I've been to numerous specialists only to have a KZbin video tell me the cure

I am so happy I found this. I’ve never commented on a KZbin video before but I feel compelled to do so now. For one week I couldn’t move without wincing. The pain took my breath away. My sister is an X-ray tech and after a bunch of question she concluded it was my SI joint. So I researched for a few hours, agreed and started looking up treatments. I followed the video, step by step, 3 hours ago with IMMEDIATE RELIEF!!! I am currently laying down with ZERO PAIN! I’m in awe. I am so appreciative. I am so happy I found you! Thank you so much!!

This changed the quality of my life. After many years of left hip pain and sore back these techniques were a miracle. Advil, CBD, tens unit(electro shock), and every stretch I could think of did not relieve the many years of agony. After 1 month all those pains were gone! I do these exercises right before I go on my 3 1/2 mile walk and the pain never appears during the walk. What a godsend.

YOU ROCK. Noun, not verb. (Obviously.). I have never stuck to any exercise plan but I have been trying (successfully) to walk 3 miles a day because I am working from home, since March. My SI joint pain popped up recently and stopped me in my tracks. I am 51, overweight and a diabetic. Walking is the thing that finally pushed my A1C down from 11.4 (yes, double digits) to 7.8. I have been very proud of my discipline in walking and moving my body and not being able to do so really messed with my head. But yesterday, after doing this realignment, I was able to do a gentle 1 mile walk. YOU MADE ME CRY with relief and joy. I never knew I would love moving my body so much.

I have been in constant pain with my SI for the better part of 3 years. I had no idea how much I just tuned it out and dealt with it every day. I got home from my run this evening and while I was laying on the floor I realized my right knee was a good half inch higher than my left when I brought them up to 90. I decided that something had to give so of course I turned to KZbin. Yours was the first video that looked legitimate. I did the circuit twice and by the end of the second go around, my entire pelvis shifted and popped. This moment is the first moment in 3 years that I have not been in pain and I could cry. Thank you so much. I can not tell you what kind of relief I’m feeling.

Exercises to readjust SI joint for right now. Exercise 1: Lie down on back with knees up and bent. Place stick underneath one knee and in front of other knee. Push one knee up; one knee down. Hold for five seconds. Do 3 sets. Then switch sides. Exercise 2: Lie down on back with knees bent & up. Place a ball between legs. Squeeze it for 3-5 second for 3 sets. Exercise 3: Tie knees together while lying on ground with knees up. You can use a belt. Then pull knees apart for 5 seconds for 3 sets. Exercise 4: 3 sets of bridges for 5 seconds.

I can’t find the words to convey to you just how grateful I am that you put this video out. I was having horrific pain down my right leg for about three months. My chiropractor really couldn’t help and, in fact, seemed to actually make it worse. But she did tell me that she thought the issue was coming from my SI joint. Had she not said that, I would not have known where to begin. I searched for information on it here on KZbin and came across your video. I did the exercises before bed one night and woke up about 75% better. It was such an improvement that I was OK with only improving that much. I figured I could live like that. Well, another week passed and I decided to try the exercise again to see what would happen. There was no immediate improvement but, when I got up the next morning, my pain was 100% gone and has remained gone. I thought I was on the road to surgery! I can’t believe the fix was so simple! You have given me my life back and I am so, so grateful.

After a year and a half of PT I got to a point where I could go 2 months without it going out of place (at the beginning it was daily). So massive progress. 5 months ago I moved from my home town and can't find a PT who will listen to me and do manual therapy for my SI. I am so happy and excited I can now manage when my SI misaligns without having to go to PT. I think this video for me is quite literally a life changer. Thank you so much!!

I suffered a fall on the ice last year (slipped down 3 concrete steps and right hip/buttock straddling the bottom step - precisely in that SI joint) My chiropractor was no help at all - made it worse, I think - ended up taking steroids and pain meds for 10 days last Nov. missed 4 days of work too. Ever since I haven't been able to drive for long periods (30 minutes or less) without terrible pain in that area of my hip. Your anatomy lesson (one of your best features) helped me see that maybe it was that SI joint misaligned so I tried these steps. With only TWO adjustments the pain has been reduced to nearly zero. (I drove a school bus route for over an hour today with almost no pain - and a short walk alleviated it) Thank you so much for all your videos! I am going to continue watching and doing these adjustments. Haven't felt this good in decades!

As an orthopedic surgeon i have dissected bodies and operated on the SI joint. It simply cannot and does not pop out. Its not possible. The SI joint has the strongest thickest ligaments in the body and they only allow for imperceptable (less than millimeter) movement. a tiny and i mean tiny fraction of the surface area of the joint. never ever will it pop out of place without near fatal amounts of trauma (eg jumping from the roof of a 5 storybuilding). But if moving, stretching and strengthening the muscles helps the pain that perfect. Just dont be fooled by the wrong interpretation of the cause of the pain.
@angeline69958 ай бұрын
@Finnboy212 Which bone in my lower back clunks into place when I lie in the bath then? I can feel that it's out of alignment and it's extremely painful and then sometimes it pops back in. I'm not doubting your information, I'd just like to know what that is.

I am a PTA and have used a similar technique on my patients for years. In February I went to New Zealand on a hiking trip and climbed a mountain straight up. I wanted to get back down as fast as possible and ran part of the way. After sitting down to rest I stood up and realized my SI was out. I could put it back; but it would not stay. Whenever I sat down it went back out when I returned home I found your video and it helped so much. I can't run down hill yet. Thank you. I know this will benefit my patients

I've been struggling with this lower back pain for about 7 years now (done chiro, physio, massage, acupuncture to not much success) and today was extra bad. I flipped on KZbin to watch highlights of the Leaf game and KZbin told me to watch this video... So happy I did! Pain didn't completely subside, but the simple exercises definitely took me out of the active spasm pain. Definitely will be doing these, plus the strengthening exercises on the daily now. Thanks!

Hi. I tried that. Unfortunately , the exercise didn't do much for me. My SI joint pain is causing extreme pain. My pain is very sciatic. At this point my left leg has become longer than my right leg, whereas the right foot toes, when my feet are heel to heel meets at the arch of my left foot instead of my toes and the left foot extends out much farther from the right. I have been so many places and they only offer pain medicines, which is very frustrating to me. I've been doing stretches, padding my left shoe with foot arch pads, to relieve some of the stress it works to relieve sad strenuously pain allowing me tolerance pain . Are there other exercise that might help?

Thank you Dr Jared! I’ve had pretty severe pain in my tailbone for months. Sitting is misery, even with a Waffle cushion. I have been searching for exercises for “coccydynia” and came across your video. It seems to be helping. Have you found SI pain to refer/concentrate in the tailbone? I literally read all of the comments to this video, but didn’t see any other similar questions. Meanwhile, I’m going to continue these exercises regularly. I loved the comment from the lady who placed a broom handle inside of a pool noodle. ❤️

Hi, did you clear your pain eventually? I am going through the same pain.
@judygude3 жыл бұрын
@@rinariya2422 it’s never 100%gone, but it is totally tolerable for the most part. I ended up requesting a referral to physical therapy and doing everything they said. I still go to yoga classes to keep my spine in as good shape as possible. In my case, spinal twist exercises have been the most helpful. I highly recommend a Waffle Cushion, which is effective and portable. In addition, never slouch. Any seat with a slightly reclining back is miserable, so I generally try to sit up very straight. Never slouch your pelvis either. Basically, find a really good PT who can pinpoint the underlying problem. Best wishes.

Thank you, thank you! I have had recurring pain in my left SI joint since I fell on the ice about five years ago. It flared up so I searched online for the right exercise to pop it back into place and THIS DID IT! I could feel a small pop when I used the golf club and felt better immediately. I will continue doing the exercises and really appreciate you sharing them! The first time it happened (after the initial injury), I had to stop running for a month or so (difficult for me since I run about three miles a day) and could hardly walk. Thankfully, a physical therapist was able to pop it back into place that time so I could do the things I love again. I couldn't remember what she did and was thrilled to find your video!!!

I have two questions if you see this. First, if I know that it is my right SI that is the problem should I only do one side of the bar exercise, and if so which one? Second, you have your head raised for all the exercises. Is this part of the exercise or simply so you can be seen and heard better? Again, thanks for the helpful video!

@Mr.NiceGuy0.11343 жыл бұрын
@@Kjskateboarding1 I went to the chiropractor for a little while and it worked at first but after about a couple of weeks of feeling better all of my pain went from my right leg to my left leg. For about a month and then back to my right leg and then to both legs and then to my right leg. I stopped going to the chiropractor because I felt like it wasn't really doing anything. The last time I went to the chiropractor was a couple months ago. All of my pain is gone until I try to run, and then it hurts a little bit in my left hip. Or whenever I lay down on a hard flat surface some bone or something in my back moves and it's kinda painful. So I can't really run or lay down and get up a bunch. I think the reason why I was having all this pain was because I was lifting too much weight with my lower back. What made it even worse for me was, on February 2nd I was lifting a gate that was pretty heavy and I set it down on my foot so I wouldn't drop it. Then I lifted up with my lower back and then moved my foot out from under it, I felt something in my lower back move, and it didn't hurt until the day after. What made it even worse was that it was the day I started having covid symptoms like the worst headache I've ever had and a fever. So I couldn't go the chiropractor for 2 weeks because of me testing positive for covid and whenever I would move it felt like someone was stabbing me in the back and twisting the knife. It was so severe I couldn't even pick up 20lbs, and I didn't know what was wrong and I still don't know what was wrong. It probably also didn't help that I was doing SI joint pain excersizes for low back pain. The only thing that might be a little concerning is on my x-ray it showed my last or second to last vertabre being half the distance or almost touching the other one like the disc might of been squished a little bit, that's about the only thing I can think of, but I'm also not a doctor 👍👍

I squatted and ended up with the same problem. Would love to hear the answer too

I have chronic SI joint problems, due to a fused lumbar region. Anytime I do squats I start over with problems. I finally figured out, I can’t do squats. I can’t do bridges either. So, I work around all that and do everything else I can. The golf club exercise is key for me, to keep my joints “in place”. Good luck!
