1.1.1.1 w/ 1.0.0 1 had more consistency of reaching the same download upload speeds while 8.8.8.8 w/ 8.8.4.4 gave me a bit faster speeds but with inconsistencies of jumping up high and Low on both upload and download. Thanks i had to check it over and over for the pass few days to see which was better thank you.

man thank you so much the DNS settings of 8.8.8.8 worked for me. I am from India and internet speed here is quiet average. Was downloading RDR2 108 gb game and it was showing 48 hrs. Once I changed the DNS settings it went down straight to 15 hrs 😍. Will let you know how much time it took to download once settings were updated. Edit: It took 13 hrs to download 108gb game.

There's a couple of things about wifi that you need to check at the modem/router end, and there are smartphone apps that can help. Essentially, a lot of people just use the default channel, and that means more background noise on the channel, and so less bandwidth. I'm lucky, few close neighbours, but there were still three on the default channel. The other thing these wifi analyzer apps will show is how all signals are spread over several adjacent channels, so switching by one channel doesn't get much. Some wifi firmware will let you set a wider set of channels, at lower power, which may be more reliable. It depends on how your local network is set up whether your modem/router is providing DNS, but if it is, you can program these server addresses into that, and point your PS4 at the modem/router address. And all of this, if you're not sure, don't

Another thing you can do which worked wonders with my wifi/PS4 set up - go in to your router, and if it has 2.4ghz and 5ghz wifi speeds available - split your wifi signal in to two channels - one channel being the 2.4ghz network, and the other being 5ghz. Then marry your PS4 to the 5ghz network - this stops your router deciding which network to assign your PS4 too when you set up. I push other devices to the other lower ghz network - unless you stream video to that device. Works a treat in my household, and I hold a steady 70/10 network speed on PS4 which is a room away from the router, and I cannot wire it in to the LAN side sadly.
