Alissa White-Gluz is from Canada , band is Swedish , has opened gigs , now and then , for Nightwish as does Amaranthe and of course Epica is connected to this band cluster , when its Mark Jansen band , not related to Floor Jansen , but they had a band called After Forever together and then there is Floor Jansen husband band Sabaton , hes the drummer and Kamelot , with its guest singer Elize Ryd from Amaranthe and the connection to Epica , when Simone Simons (Epica vocalist) husband plays keyboards in Kamelot .... Its like some nasty movie plot with too many connections , so you really cant follow it :-)

Dueling guitars? Well, Arch Enemy has a song called You Will Know My Name with this same vocalist. It was done near the same time judging by her hair color and length, and by the release date on the music video. That's the song that got me into Arch Enemy, because of the guitars first and then because of Alissa.

They kick ass live! Watched at least once to twice over the last years and they never dissapointed. Can't wait until concerts are a thing again. And in regard to conflicts in sound, you can't get enough good metal...saw them together with Wintersun, Jinjer and Tribulation and it worked perfect. Then another time with Amorphis and Nightwish or just last year with Amon Amarth...honestly I never had the experience of conflicting sounds, always enjoyed what I got for my money and had a good time :)

I love Arch Enemy🤟🏻 Even though they are a Swedish band Alissa the vocalist is Canadian... She's good but lacks the brutal rawness of Angela their first female vocalist... You should take a listen to shadows and dust from Wages of Sin... The first album Angela appeared on 🤟🏻🤟🏻

What do you mean it's not technical and just heavy? I would argue that almost every metal band is technical, some more than others of course but it's still difficult to pull off if you can't play any of it. Anyway, nice reaction.🤘🏻You have heard Alissa, now listen to Angela, the second singer. I think she was the first female singer with growling vocals, ever.😋 And she is the best in my opinion. Check out Arch Enemy - Nemesis.

"Technical" is considered a subgenre and they're not classified as such. Don't take things too literally.

You have to react to a live version of Arch Enemy - Nemesis! Arch Enemy is from Sweden but the lead singer Alissa White-Gluz is from Canada. She is actually their 3rd lead singer. Johan Liiva was their first singer. Angela Gossow was their second and longest running lead singer. Angela then stepped down to pursue other interests and spend more time with her family. She became the bands business manager and recruited Alissa to be her replacement. Alissa started out as the lead singer of a Canadian band The Agonist. You have to check out the song Panaphobia from the Agonist, really great song! The Agonist is still around, they now have a lead singer by the name of Vicky Psarakis. 😁

"The World Is Yours" is the shit! I'm referring to the drumming here. Mr Erlandsson is a beast. Also, Arch Enemy uses the old "octave rise" in the end, a popular move from Swedish schlager music (Old couples pop, dance), a jedi mindtrick that gets you hyped towards the end of a song.

The band is originally from Sweden but the singer, Alyssa, is from Canada and there's been other lineup changes over the years. She's their 3rd singer, but I prefer their previous singer Angela. Alyssa era Arch Enemy (AE) is the worst AE in my opinion. This song is OK though. The band was formed in the 90's when founding member and lead guitarist Michael Amott left the band Carcass after the Heartwork album. My favorite AE song is a little known cover song they do called 'Kill With Power' (of course with Angela as the singer). I heard Sporto mention Unleash The Archers again. He has to give them another chance with the song General Of The Dark Army. I think you'll both enjoy it more than their other song you did. That video features no neutered guitars (without the headstock)./rant
