In that active kingmaking scenario, what do you do if seat 1 and 3 agree to draw, but 2 doesn't? Do you still protect 1's win attempt? Or try to convince 1 to consult for deluge or something to clear the board/wincons of 2/3 instead?

there is also the situation where: - you are the kingmaker (player 3) and player 1 doesnt agree, because they have more interaction. Regarding the deal part: - Be careful that when doing the deal, you (and the player that didnt accept the draw) are risking that someone breaks the deal.

If there is more relevant interaction left that means there never was a "true" Kingmaking situation. Like mentioned right at the beginning it is very hard to find 100% true Kingmaking situations as usually players have hidden infromation (hand cards). And yes, breaking deals is absolutely legal, but it comes at the cost of your reputation as a player. Still be wary...some people are willing to do anything it takes for a win. 😵‍💫

@@EisenherzMTG Feels like the best way to enforce a draw is to suggest that everyone immediately scoop and accept the draw on the spot, with no further game actions by anyone, this can be a good way to avoid bm moves to not actually respect the draw. You can directly get each player to confirm they accept then shake each of their hands, at this point only the most brazen person would try something and likely at that point even a judge would agree the group has decided the game is over.

How do you see Tivit attacking a player witj Necropotence and paying all the life total in order to deny the clues/treasures?

Reasonable, if it's the best out for that particular player in that situation. imo people signes up to play against the best decks, the best strategies and the best plays. Well, if thats the best play for a person then it's a valid play.

#3 Is dastardly but also quite funny, taking politics to that extreme. Curious what your advice might be in a situation of stax rather than counterspells, both as the stax player and non-stax player.

If you can put a stax piece into play that stops one player from winning, but not the other you are still kingmaking. You could try to leverage that in the same way. btw thats why stax is so hard to pilot. People put stax pieces into play way too randomly and then unintentionally give the game to one player who is unaffected.

Scenario 2 with the pact of negation…. Being in seat 2 isn’t very good for this scenario because I think most people would pass priority in hopes of seat 3 or 4 being able to stop the win. It’s much more understandable if the person was in seat four though.

It absolutely does not matter for the point I'm making in the video. Just pretend P2 already passed prio to 3 and 4, but they revealed their hands to P2 and reset priority by tapping lands to give P2 another chance to interact.

Yeah I don't politic in commander! I am a old school constructed player and I don't like how the politics in commander work.

This is a video for competitive players, though, and game theory suggests that politics are crucial for competitive play.

Yes, in a tourney it can be objectively correct to politic, tho its perfectly valid to play without politics - that said if another player tries to politic outright rejecting it is a form of politics in itself, so it's valid to not initiate politics yourself but you might be in one of these situations where you'd have to have that discussion.
