If even an un-skilled 'dummy' such as myself 'gets it' - there must many of you skilled tradespeople watching this and appreciating the skill, expertise and sheer 'bloody-mindness' of Steve and Alex. where were your videos 25 yrs ago when I built my extension to my bungalow. I had never put two bricks down everything was from DIY books. End of the job the building inspector did not have to get me to correct anything and made a comment on my building skills, being much better than most. I did fill my brick joints like you do. Mine was an extension to the Kitchen, Bedroom x 2, full wet room internal passageway and brick skinning to the outside wall all on the Aluminium Prefab Bungalow. At the time I was going through a divorce and had one severely disabled child and another young child. One hell of a job, With your videos it would have helped a lot.

I eft the UK in 1981 when I emigrated to Canada, I remember the new house in Burnley where I lived in was cold, in fact very cold in winter. The big difference I see in your excellent videos is that there is so much insulation used now in the wall cavities and in the floor slabs. Does anyone use spray foam to fill cavities in new wall construction, we use it here to insulate new construction mainly wood stud walls, but also concrete walls, superb work guys, love the vids.

@9:25 Would you PLEASE make up a wood darby instead of using those expensive levels to screed concrete? They are easier on your back as well. It's just a braced wooden triangle with fir porch floor decking on a flat to smooth and screed with.

I have been following Steve and Alex since day one. Steve is highly experienced and Alex is gaining skill and ability on a daily basis. If @elonthun8012 , you have nothing sensible or some constructive criticism to bring to the table, just disappear now or quicker if you can.
