Hi, I would always recommend speaking to your doctor or pharmacist for any actual medical advice, as these videos are meant only for educational purposes! As far as I know, Glargine can be administered at the age of 18 and up. Some sources say ages 6 and up can take Glargine.

Is insulin glargine the same as Tresiba?

Insulin Glargine is a long-acting insulin, while Insulin Degludec (Tresiba) is sometimes considered an ultra-long-acting insulin. They are similar in ways but are still different types of insulin with different durations of effect. Hope that helps!

I'm taking Lantas glargine once a day after dinner 10 units on my thighs . My thighs seem to swell . Why is that so?..... I'm kharina Barrett from Calcutta , West Bengal, India.

Swelling and weight gain is a listed side effect of Lantus, however, I would definitely recommend speaking to your primary healthcare provider or pharmacist about the swelling. They may have follow-up questions/assessments, and recommendations for you. Hope that helps!
