This is a conspiracy to commit insurance fraud and assault with a vehicle. I believe they left because they noticed the dashcam. It is not a hit and run because it wasn't an accident and the driver INTENTIONALLY rammed the victim. If the driver is still dumb enough to call her insurance to make a claim, then you can actually add insurance fraud. I'm sure if she is that dumb to make a claim, she will add many more passengers than that car can even carry These passengers should also be charged for conspiracy to commit insurance fraud. I remember decades ago in SoCal where a car full of scammers would intentionally brake in front of a semi truck in the freeway because they carry high liability insurance. One car tried that and the truck crushed the car. The surviving passenger confessed they did it on purpose. This then led to the arrest of their lawyer who represented them multiple times. Sometimes these scams also involve lawyers, doctors, physical therapists, and more. Get a dashcam.

Apparently on Reddit, people found out that the pkate on the red kia comes back to a kia forte GT-line. And, these scammers did the same thing to another person woth a dashcam very recently. Someone on reddit also found the scammers car parked.

In 2020 we had just bought a new Rav4 and at a stop sign a college kid in front of us started to pull out then stopped and backed into us. Little damage to his car but 2k to ours. Nice kid & we had just left a college football game & I knew it would take the police forever to get there. He apologized, gave me his insurance info, called his dad & told dad what happened & said he'd call his insurance co on Mon. By Monday his dirtbag dad had told him to tell the insurance co that I ran into him. I'll never not have a dash cam.

I also noticed they had disabled brake lights on the crash vehicle. Either pre-collision brakes or quick reaction of the driver prevented her from actually rear ending the vehicle.

If I have an older hard wired dash cam with micro USB, couldn't I just purchase a micro USB to USB-C adopter for few bucks, instead of paying $150 to a shop for a new hard wire power cable. Aren't all power cable basically the same? What is the difference between Viofo's micro and USB-C power cables, and other dash cams with micro or mini USB or USB-C power cables. To me, it seems like a money grab to require a new $25 cable and $150 installation when $1 micro USB-USB-C adopter would work just fine. Did anybody do a test on this subject, or would you be willing to test different make cables with different adopters to see how cameras would work or not work with them. Many people switching cameras would appreciate if it would save them $150.

So I’ve noticed that the data communication that happens when switching from driving to parking recording means that not all cables are compatible. This is also true if you try to mix brands of cables that all use the same connector. So in terms of power, they may be okay, but I have seen issues with parking mode and even some lockups when using generic power cables. You can always try using an adapter first, but YMMV.

It's new york. The person filming will be charged for invasion of privacy and racism against migrants. The people in the honda will be put in luxury hotels in manhattan until insurance determines that the state is responsible for this incident. They will then put out a bill to add cameras every 10ft on all highways in the name of safety and have the citizens pay for it in higher overall taxes and tolls. That's how democrat states are run.

After a couple years of ownership, I just updated the firmware in the Viofo 119 V3. I’m going to try the time settings for HDR on/off. I haven’t been happy with the video quality recently and I’m hoping changing the HDR setting and going from 30 FPS to 60 FPS helps.

Yup got one in every one of my cars and trucks. You can’t trust people out there and when something happens and you report it to the police, they say we can’t do anything without proof. Happened to me, thus I bought them for all my cars. Saved me once. Everyone should have them. Cheap insurrance. When I start my truck the electrical interference from the starter motor caused the dash cams to crash and stop recording , I put the power ports on a toggle switch , it solved the problem

IMHO it appears that Viofo has overtaken the Blackvue for overall video quality and features. My preference is for any dash camera manufacturer is to correct the overheating issue over smaller size of the unit. Law enforcement agencies have license plate readers...are these devices using different processors and lenses? Perhaps a dash/windshield mounted version of this has a market with everyday drivers. Thanks for sharing.

@@mattmanyam That’s what I’m trying to do as well. Main camera for front and secondary cameras for the sides facing to the trailer. I found some cheap ones, but can’t find good quality and durable ones. I drive a lot in snowy conditions and cheap cameras won’t last long for these conditions.

I have always been concerned with running 2 cameras on my car. If the cable is going thru the door frame trim, would it not intervene with the side airbag deployment? I don't know of a front, and a rear camera that connect wirelessly. We could then find power at the rear, independent from the front.

I like viofo,shame they don't have model with 4G sim. Why don't you also test Xiaomi models? and they are promising and offer a lot,they have the same sensor as viofo just cheaper.

After my wife got blamed for an accident, in which the other person had a stop sign and she was on the main road, I make sure I got dash cams in all my vehicles. My favorite right now is the v i o f o a 129 duo pro. Granted there are new models right now that I would purchase if I needed to buy a new one. As far as the rear camera having the connection up top, I just flip the cable around and ran the right angle to the back and the straight up front. Not ideal, but it works perfectly fine. As far as the 5ghz Wi-Fi, it's still slow to transfer. If I need data, I pull it out of the car and plug it into my PC.
