At the time of retirement when a senior citizen's retirement money comes to SBI or comes in his account, then the selected employees there, in the name of life insurance, forcibly get a policy done to earn their commission in which there is a locking period, interest is received but there is no certainty about the life of the senior citizen, they trap him for long periods of two-three, five years, four years, five years and his deposited money gets stuck in the locking period, this is what the employees of State Bank of India do, by forcibly taking a decision that your tax will be saved, you will have to bring it, they trap you in an insurance policy, be careful when you retire.

It happened to me also. But I told them I don't want any plan which I can get after 5 or 6 years. Then I want to transfer my joint account with my mother into my name ,they asked me lots and lots of papers to prove my legality and want signatures from my aunts and uncles etc. Atlast I have to invest in some mutual fund. Then only they transferred the account. It took some 3 or 4 months.

I don't see any benefit with the specified insurance plan, why did SBI bring such plan? With 30 lacs you get equivalent amount( amount provided on quarterly basis) as interest and can break the fd at any point of time.

He should file a FIR against Jayashri Ben for cheating. He may also file a case before Consumer forum. Problem is that he seems to have signed the documents without reading the documents. It will be difficult for the courts to give relief to him because anyone can say so to avoid a valid contract. In fact, banks should be banned from selling insurance. When I applied for a personal loan from SBI, I was told that the loan would not be approved unless I also purchased a life insurance policy. Feeling pressured, I signed up for SBI Life Insurance without fully understanding the terms, as I urgently needed the loan. They informed me that I had to pay an annual premium of ₹20,000 and that I could withdraw the policy once I had fully repaid the loan. After foreclosing the loan, I encountered difficulties in surrendering the life insurance due to a lock-in period, which was never disclosed to me by the bank agent when I initially subscribed. It is a mutual fund n the returns subject to market ups n downs. Returns are not guaranteed n not wise to invest! In early 90s UTI introduced MEP 1, MEP 2 n MEP3 for 3 years lock in period. I invested in MEP 3 Rs.10k n by that time MEP1 had become Rs.30k n MEP2 Rs.20k but MEP3 by the end of 3 yrs had lost Rs.1k, means stood at 9k. I waited another two yrs but the plan did not grow n I withderew it. Suffered Rs.1K loss n interest for five years. At that time Bank's interest on FDs wavered around 10 to 11% interest per annum.😂
