I love how the Tier 3 D.O.T.S. doesn't just apply the grid like any normal boring light, but instead moves and scans around the room. It looks so cool!

@@Discoseek I meant as the main use of it. Cause if you place it on the floor, it would be limited by any furniture blocking sight. But on the wall, it would be much better placement for it. The Dots right now, as you said, is not practical to be on the wall, with how limited of a reach it has. Upgrade 3 will be on walls, and most likely not the wall with the door on it either, depending on it's projection arch. The best use would probably be on the wall across from the door, as if the Project goes as far as it can, then it can go outside the door and hit the wall on the other side of the door too. Anyways, placements can be placed anywhere now, unlike before, but they still have an 'intended placement'.

Now with THAT said, assuming the tripod is getting the same 3-tier treatment, I could see a wall-mountable "tripod" stand being an extremely attractive feature!

Yeah, I like the idea in theory, but from the short clips, it looks like it will work the exact same way it does now. Unless it tracks every time the ghost moves. But "dots state" makes it sound like you'll still just see it move for a second and then done, and if it moves while not in "dots state" you still don't see it move. Really doesn't even matter if the dots are moving. In very big rooms it will probably be a good thing, but then just an increased radius would be fine. No need for the seemingly useless scanning function. Of course it's just speculation and we have to see how it actually works, but from the clips and description, it doesn't sound as revolutionary as it's made out to be.

The level badge cosmetic thing is an odd way to do it. Ignoring the fact that it will have the numeral level listed (because that’s the most boring part of the badge), it encourages you to just choose the highest level of each category (except for maybe color). if only a few people will have the 10k and 15k and I was one of them, I’d feel obligated to choose the hand symbol cause of the status even if I liked the others more. That normally wouldn’t be a problem, but if it’s permanent you can’t wear the status badge for a while and then swap to “I love green and stars!” Lol

I feel like people should be able to pick their number too (as long as it's lower than the maximum). If you're OCD and at either a nice even level (I'd really rather have 10000 instead of 11121 for instance) or meme number (404, 420, 666, etc.) it kind of incentivises you to stop playing entirely until the update.

I think that the reason why you can’t change it is because it would make new players left out and just leaving you one permanent option would be the way to minimizing the problem. However, it would make the options pointless, since you’re going to pick the highest option of everything, other than the color or maybe the background. Perhaps that’s the intended use, giving people a false sense of options when they know everyone will pick the highest, lol. Hopefully they will make it so you can pick and choose whenever you want, or at least on a timer.

They couldn't really do that though because it would give away the ghost type. Unless if you mean that the old man with the hook still use the hook instead of choking you and that sorta thing. Because yeah, that would be cool. But they couldn't have a spirit kill you in a certain way because then whoever dies first will just be like, "oh it's a spirit."

I like the idea of more kill animations, but for different ghosts isn't a good idea. As others have pointed out, you could get a friend to kill themself, or even use a very rare tarot card. However, one way your idea could work as you intended, would be a special evidence like banshee scream, obake fingerprints, and more. One animation for each ghost is just way too much.

The tier 1 D.O.T.S., being a handheld device, makes me believe even more that the *_Mare_* should have been given D.O.T.S. instead of the Yokai, since it encourages you to wander around the ghost room with lights off. The Mare's other two evidences already encourage darkness (since Spirit Box only works with lights off and you need to turn off the lights to properly see Ghost Orbs), so its third one should as well. If they swapped the evidences of the Mare and the Yokai with each other, I would be so happy.

Also I kinda hope that DOTS for Phantom would be reworked to not show up on video (and maybe add a little sanity drain to it, so it would finally have strenght). The Phantom is already a very complete ghost, but it would add so much to it by having its D.O.T.S. be an "opposite Goryo D.O.T.S.", and this could lead to some very cool moments in-game, like, "dude, I just saw D.O.T.S., did you see it from the camera?", and the other guy goes like "I didn't, it must be a Phantom!" I always enjoy having new and creative ways of figuring out ghosts because they always feel extremely satisfying when you end up figuring out the ghost using them Oh, and about the writing needing darkness, I think it would be a nice idea too. Maybe having to turn off lights to increase the chances of having Ghost Writing, or even having an ability exclusive to the Mare in which it would never write if the lights in the room where the book is are on, similar to how Spirit Box requires lights off (Late reply, BTW, YT didn't notify about your comment at all lol)

I find the level reset thing stupid. 1: you can’t change this at all so it’s locked in forever once you do it 2: if your a really random level it will do you specific level in display. I think they should change this to have you display whatever level you want depending on what level you got to. For me it would be level 1-1,700 something. Let’s say you want to display level 1000 then you can with a scale. Another thing I think they should change is the forever change. At least make it like a month change. So you change it and can’t change it for another month. That would be far better.

A part of me wants to play a bit now just to get some colors, maybe purple, cause it's my favorite, but I also just want to wait till the update comes out before I play. I think I am level 3 or 4 because I just tested the game a while back. So I'm most likely gonna miss out on anything cool. I hope I can choose to not have a number or a background, because a black background that says "4" would be super demoralizing. I'd probably just make an entirely new steam account if I am stuck with a "4".

The D.O.T.S change sounds great. This is a Ghost sort of does this with LSF where the projection is the actual ghost. It's super useful in that game as a way to hit the ghost with the gun.

I still want randomly generated maps. As a ghost hunter, you would be going to different houses and places all the time (obviously) instead of the same houses. I understand it may be difficult to do, but they don't need to be completely randomly generated. You could just have like 10 iterations of a living room, 10 iterations of a hallway, 10 iterations of a bedroom, and etc, but then those iterations are just snapped together at random to build a level. The hardest part would be the ghost pathing for sure. Each of those iterations of the rooms would have to have every possible combination of pathing compatibility for the ghost

The current DOTS feels way to theme-parkish, and for a game that's whole purpose is to be observant, it's gimmicky nature is the single most immersion-breaking thing for me. 10/10 change!!

Yes there should be level unlocks for different changes you can do to the badge that can never be unlocked after the uppdate. The not able to change it is dumb. Make it so you can swap between the different things you have unlocked, but you can never use the ones you did not have the level for. If it stays this way and it's a one shot deal I just go with all the highest lvl options I can do. I'm lvl 500 and need to get to 1000 fast. Might need some help with that. Public lobbies maybe XD

I already use the uv that way. 100% don't recommend it, but I don't have hands free to grab the deployables and a non evidence item. If I were better, I'd probably locate quicker so I can bring all evidence quicker

​@@RoundShades Honestly wish there was some way to bring lots of items in at once. Imagine some sort of trolley / cart you can stick items on and push around, that'd be great. Once you find the ghost room, the fact that they can change favourite room makes getting evidence for items you didn't bring in much more difficult. Is the ghost being stubborn, has it changed room, or is it just not that evidence type? It would also increase my time in the ghost room, which is the whole point in the game. Not to mention, this would also massively help larger maps, that I no longer play, because once you find the room it's a grind against sanity if you don't have a teammate. Old asylum was unplayable for me because of this. You were on 0% sanity by the time you had even found the room unless you got lucky.

The idea of being able to customize your badge more times than one is the better way to go. It makes the player feel more involved and accomplished when they have the opportunity to be able to change their badges from time to time just to have a variety of looks. In all honesty there’s no BEST badge option. Because they all would look so good together in different combinations

Hid I can't wait for the D.O.T.S rework because I despise the normal one on the floor especially when your dealing with these wide, big rooms like hallways because if a ghosts favorite room is a hallway and it has D.O.T.S as an evidence then you'd need to buy multiple of them to find the ghost on it. e.g. 42 edgefield road upstairs hallway. which has multiple doors for the ghost to interact with.

I like how the DOTS tiers offer slightly different utility and aren't just a straight replacement with a higher power level or whatever. That makes it feel more customizable to how a person wants to play. Like, if you prefer the flashlight style dots so you can walk around, use that, etc. Might be nice if eventually you could slightly increase each tier's individual power in some way, though.

If you see this Insym, please talk with cj about accents. I think the accents need a rework. While I do agree that rewarding those players that grinded like hell to get a high level is a good thing, I feel that accents in their current state are unfair to lower level players. I think the first 5 accents should be unlocked in increments of 500, ending at the skull which would be 2,500. The summoning circle would be level 5,000, and the Obake handprints would be level 10,000. This would enable lower level casual players to have more choices for their badge and give higher level grinders a good reward for going above and beyond to reach a high level. Those level requirements are a bit insane honestly. I play the game fairly regularly (for a family man in his mid 30's that works a full time job) and I am only like level 200-something.. I thought I would be up there and it looks like I barely even make the cut for a badge. I would like to see those lowered, or at least some lower level options to have an accent on your badge.

The pen D.O.T.S (T1) is much spookier tho! Lol imagine you walk nervously & shine it somewhere and you see the ghost suddenly walk (w/ scarier animation effect and sound) towards you or whatever direction. 😂 Thad make me instantly passed out. 💀

so hyped for new things to come to phasmophobia. ive been playing phasmo since 2020, but couldnt play it that much as insym. also into demonlogist and so below playing a lot this days. great horror games ever.. im level 2023, lol. was a great journey to get to that level. dont know if i can get to 3000, i doubt that haha, but 2000 is still awesome to get .CJ bring more new stuff,a new map please also to phamo, want to experience some new stuff in the game already..

How would the Goryo work with a tier 1 single player? seems kinda difficult especially if you don't know the game very well
