All I can think about is how creepy an event would be if it was the body standing peeking at you from down the hall and when you notice it it quickly crawls back onto the table and lays still.

That’s actually such a good idea, maybe the corpse could follow you around once, and if you look back at it, it crawls back super fast

About mods - OMG I THOUGHT I'M THE ONLY ONE LIKE THIS. I know this exact feel of "this item isn't supposed to be here", or the feeling of cheating the game when I play with modded armor or weapon, or alike. So I only ever play with mods that add quests, of storylines, or NPCs, but never stuff, like weapons or armor.
Never clicked on a video from you quicker! I love watching you play Mortuary Assistant so much!! 🎉😂 hope your day has/is fantastic!

In response to Insym’s rant around 38:00 - I think the Fallout series does a great job of holding your hand a little bit at the start and slowly decreasing guidance as the game goes on so you can choose your own path. Specifically Fallout: New Vegas

I minored in music in college and it was so hard. I started playing piano around age 4, so by my 20s I was quite good. I also was a decent singer. (Sadly, I can't sing a note anymore.) I could actually play several instruments and read music, but you're right, music theory is a whole different ballgame. It's kind of an odd subject because I'm more right-brained and creative, but music theory is a straight up math class. Math was probably my least favorite subject in school, but to really understand music, you have to be good at math. So I totally get why you didn't like the class. It's funny because I could play all of these really complicated, intricate, classical pieces, but I couldn't explain to you what key they were in or how the timing worked. I just kind of knew because I had been doing it for so long.

1:10:11 They did NOT know the official ending. George R. R. Martin is a discovery writer, which means he doesn't plan anything out ahead of time (In the writing world we tend to call them a Pantser since they write by the seat of their pants lol). So even George doesn't know how the heck Game of Thrones should end. That's one of the reasons writing the next book is taking so long, there's so much fan expectation and hundreds of sideplots and characters to keep track of that he's kind of paralyzed on where to take the story. That's why I'm a plotter and plan out everything ahead of time, though no method is the "one true way to write" and plotting comes with it's own drawbacks such as getting so caught up in planning and worldbuilding that you either never start the book or end up too inflexible when writing and get stuck when a plot point is coming out like you wanted it to. One of the main reasons the show went off the rails is they ran out of George's pre-written material and both of the showrunners, David Benioff and D. B. Weiss, hate the fantasy genre. They purposefully downplayed or eliminated most of the magical aspects because they thought magic and fantasy was lame. So when it came time to deal with those fantasy elements like the White Walkers, the dragon battles, and winter they wanted out of the show and just half-assed it.
@inkvampyr11 ай бұрын
I will never understand why showrunners are hired for shows that do not care for the source material or the entire genre. The Witcher Netflix show is suffering from it too. It's just ridiculous.
@RivkahSong11 ай бұрын
@@inkvampyr Yeah, they just see the boost it could give their careers and bank accounts if it's already a successful IP and rush in to it without actually caring about the source material or quality. Fantasy gets this BS from TV and Hollywood way too often with Avatar the Last Airbender, Percy Jackson, The Witcher, GOT, Rings of Power, Wheel of Time, Willow, etc.
@Lappelduvideify10 ай бұрын
@RivkahSong And you're wrong. Martin DID in fact have an overarching story which he told only one other person. The story would have been sold along with the book rights. Also the reason that it's taking so long is because he wrote himself into a corner which would not have existed had he not added three books instead of a time jump. And finally add bullshit artist to your biography.

I am the exact same way when it comes to playing games with mods. However, for me it was the complete opposite with Terraria Calamity. I felt like Calamity added that very little extra I was always looking/yearning for with vanilla Terraria and Calamity perfected that! Especially the new types of progression etc. I'm usually a big fan of mods that implement new progression and Calamity is perfect in that regard. Minecraft mods on the other hand though are very hit or miss, for example. Usually they just pull me out of that "original" feel of the game and it ends up making me feel like I'm not playing Minecraft anymore and I lose interest. With Calamity I felt like I was just playing Terraria+ or something, as if it was a mod the devs themselves could've made!

Bg3 is phenomenal. It’s definitely a long one, but I’d say if you enjoy story and in depth characters, you’d like it. You don’t have to do every quest unless you want to, I’d say you could finish it in like 60 hours. You can level cap just from doing the basic quests, since it’s a rolling system cheesing isn’t always an option. I’ve been playing since EA, so about 1000hrs over three years. I can say with certainty it’s worth the time investment. It would definitely be an off stream game though. It’s not nearly as hard as DOS:2. That shit was so min max, and difficult. BG3 is much better balanced and paced. I recommend it. It’s probably my favorite game of all time. As for the game becoming dead, I’ve been a part of the community for 3 years, like I said, and it’s been extremely active the whole time.

The thing with Baldur's Gate and other similar games is that you're supposed to be able to 'sequence break'. The way I always learned an area was above my level was walking in with my level 1 party and getting absolutely destroyed by direwolves, or vampires, or whatever else lived there. This was in the OG Baldur's Gate, I haven't played the new one yet (looking forward to it, though can't afford it yet). The save mechanic exists for a reason. It's not save scumming if you had no idea what lived there, though you could argue that it's metagaming when you decide not to go there again for a while after reloading a save. If you're quick (and hate money) you can usually have one character escape to find a temple and resurrect everyone else...if you can afford it. It's not designed to be painfully difficult or deliberately cruel, it's just an element of realism that I miss in a lot of other games. In some games I just want to relax and have things handed to me or be guided gently along the path, but in an RPG like Baldur's Gate, it might as well be a walking simulator if you do that, and that's a lot of effort to go to for a walking simulator. Having so much to do and so many quests that intersect is what makes them so replayable. I understand that you don't necessarily have time to play something that long term when not everyone who watches you will be interested, but I just wanted to point out that Larian was catering to the players of the first two Baldur's Gate games when he made the third the way he did. It was almost exactly what we wanted, and in some ways better (the naughty humour and batsh*t shenanigans are very D&D, but lacking somewhat in the first two games). Also, it's not the kind of game you see very often anymore, as most developers are not making games where you can have so many choices affecting so many moving pieces (it's too hard, takes too long and requires more focus and patience than most people have these days, which is fair).

On the topic of the anime conversation about them making stuff up and all that: As much as people complain about One Piece's extended and/or replayed scenes, I think I prefer that to them just making things up to fill the space. Most of the time I don't even notice it, but I will admit that sometimes the extending of scenes is atrocious (cough - sumo scene in Wano - cough)

GameCube was the best console Nintendo put out. Switch is very bad, cant even run their own triple A games at 60fps or with good graphics. Like in legends arceus, pokemon in the distance were just slightly animated jpegs....come on Nintendo, you did better with n64 games

That's The Pokemon Company's responsibility, not Nintendo. Nintendo may own part of the company, but their dev teams are not under Nintendo's direct management. Nintendo's in-house devs have been making great games for the Switch for years now.

When it comes to "games that someone can't finish" I think Elden Ring fits the box perfectly for me. There's just so much filler content that it overwhelms me, I'm the type of person who if I see something I'll want to do it, but the content that is there is... well, recycled harder than Dark Souls 1 most of the time. I know that tends to happen with Open World games but it really kills the mood for me. Not to mention that it went with the "stack health unless you want to get one-shot" theme with people tending to recommend a minimum vigor of 40 is just kinda ridiculous. I get a lot of people usually went both ways in most souls games either not statting hp at all or investing most of their points in health but to force that onto the player is.. not good game design. Which is unfortunate because a lot other elements of Elden Ring are actually good.
@InDeathOnlyNothing11 ай бұрын
If they designed this game so that the dead bodies can talk by some demonic afterlife event, even after you wired their mouth shut, that's a bad decision that makes no sense at all. Plus if that is what happens to corpses and a body happened to be alive when they were wiring that person's mouth shut, that would be most horrifying. To be still alive and treated like you're dead. You're definitely not going to recover if in any of those people's care they never attempt to give you an I.V. and pump oxygen into your lungs and out of your butthole to help you inhale and exhale when your nose doesn't work. Maybe that doesn't make any sense either what I just said. Nevermind.

I think they tried to bring them back at some point but I don't know if it was actually put in. 39:15 I don't like to play overly modded games, i mainly go for aesthetic mods, the only exception was like gameplay mods in Terraria either QoL stuff like magic storage or the really big mods that actually make it feel like almost an entirely different game like thorium/calamity and only AFTER i play through all the available vanilla content and decide to come back to it like later. I actually really enjoyed Calamity because of the biome changes and what not, I love the sulfur sea and abyss sections and having to obtain items to explore those biomes and even then being scared at every corner because enemies are extremely strong in abyss early and even later when youre at the lowest part. That was something normal terraria doesn't really have, I also wish I could turn on the hunger system without using the Don't Starve collab seed in vanilla.
