Integrating Petkit Pura Max into Home Assistant: Enhancing Smart Pet Care

Today, we're diving back into the Petkit Pura Max litter box, a device I've been using for several months and am still very pleased with. Despite a hiccup where it didn't alert us about a full waste tray at midnight, it has been excellent at controlling odors-except, of course, during its cleaning cycles. While I wish it were easier to activate maintenance mode without relying on the phone app, and despite some clunkiness with the device's controls and approach sensor, the overall functionality remains top-notch. Whiskey, my cat, adapted quickly to it, and adjustments to the cleaning delay have only improved our experience.
➡️ In this quick revisit, I'm also addressing the Petkit app's limitations, such as its password security and data tracking, and we'll explore integrating the Petkit Pura Max into Home Assistant. This integration aims to enhance our smart home setup and bring you through the process of using the Home Assistant Community Store (HACS) for adding the Petkit integration.
