There are those games that have a great RT implementation, and there are those that were gimped by Nvidia to sell new GPUs. Cyberpunk being one of them. It wasn’t meant to run well at all, it’s meant to obsolete our current gpus.

have you experienced Cyberpunk at 4K with path tracing? If not, you really don't know what you're talking about. It's just night and day. I own an RTX 3080 and can get 4K 70fps at Ultra with no RT. But I choose to play it at 30fps with everything maxed and path tracing, it looks that good.

I think they should have a recall. Recalls don't need to cover an entire product line, it just needs to be products with a known defect. Well these clearly do have one.

@Skylancer727 I think a certain batch had an oxidation issue in manufacturing. But the main issue is the microcoding is it not? Meaning it's not the product with the issue more the information being sent possibly causing damage. I undervolt my Intel cpus out of the box and have not seen an issue so far. I mean AMD had a problem with 7800x3d catching fire at release and that was also down to microcode. I don't think they did a recall of the product.

I've run Intel for my 2 PC's (ik it's not alot). Will my next upgrade be Intel? Yes, since 4% or what % was those failures is still not much and if I buy new one with fixes I'll probably be fine. And AMD numbers seems even worse what I read on Puget systems. But still it's just a few %. Also with RTX, it's amazing and I'm happy to see how it'll develop. And happy that Nvidia pushes it to stop faking good shades and just ray trace them.

@Spratty-wb3is so are they showing the footage. Look this would be such a modded down version of pt along with dialled down graphics settings..but even then lol. 4080 does dlss qaulity at over 60 on pt at 1440p. With fg your at 120fps. Makes no sense amd doing that.

@c523jw7 One of the videos I watched yesterday is done by a channel that just did 3080vs7900xtx pathtracing I've seen you commented on. He did a video previously at RT on the 3080vs7900xtx stating the 7900xtx was faster and 3080 owners were lying. I question the fact he'd only gone to a certain level of RT and not RT phsyco as that would give a different result... The scenario this morning was a 4090 owner posting a pic of cyberpunk at 4k native with PT hitting 30fps. About 4 XTX owners commented on how shit the 4090 is and they can beat it because of AFMF with the same settings 🤣. They are blatantly lying. They would barely hit 10fps base frame rate...

AMD spending resources on the CPU battles. I wonder if Intel's problems become too big if nVidia would buy them? RT is a waste of resources. Like all these AI chips. Anyone remember PhysX? That was nVidia's game changer, Lol. All I really want is the next generation to perform the same but half the power usage. The best GPU I can run must run on a single PCI-e power plug. If you could get the power efficiency down that a RX7700 can run on a single power plug Is be happy. The way we're going a 1,000 watt power supply is going to be minimum standard.

@Hunty49 I was really impressed with the power efficiency of the 4070. I put one in my daughters build and with an undervolt it'll sit around 150-160w. Running intel for the last couple of generations that's not far off cpu power draw 🤣.. I should run it with the 7800x3d cause that would be crazy efficient..

@Hunty49 gaming! Mostly fortnite 😅... Everything runs higher voltage than needed. It's just a failsafe for stability. I've pretty much always undervolted my nvidia gpu's and It'll gain a little performance from stock if you don't push the undervolt too far..

How you feel about the 7900xtx if i’m not wrong h had a 4080 before. I had both but in general think the 4080 more worth it as its a rounded card with dlss. I think dlss looks superior to fsr but might be i’m wrong.

@k1cs1m3a8 7900xtx is a good gpu! My preference is the 4080.. For me its the more balanced gpu with the RT performance and the visual advantage of DLSS whilst running around 100w less. The advantage of the 7900xtx is it's raster performance but at the cost of 450w. That's not a massive deal, but when they are closely matched it becomes a third reason!

@@Spratty-wb3is I don't normally comment on these type of things but I generally go with whatever is cheaper I currently have a 7900 XTX 32gb ram and a 7950X I don't care for power draw I don't need to care for power draw or energy consumption I don't even care for price to performance I got amd simply because I really don't care for RT of any sorts and the fact amd hasn't gone with the 12VHP crap I never use FSR or DLSS or XeSS or frame gen or AFMF or anything of the sorts I also really don't care for that games these days are relying way too much on that. currently at point where this guy is talking about amd cards cannot do RT I can sit here and say they can I can play CP2077 everything on ultra with RT and get 100 fps

Hey man, this is the first video I have ever watched from you and since the video is a couple of days old I am not sure if you are going to read the comment. First off I am an AMD CPU and GPU user and I dont really care about RT anyway. Even back then when I had a 3080 I didnt really care for it and immediately turned it off anyway. So I have actually found the video you meant in the video and I don't really understand why you are saying he was "misleading". He literally shows the settings that were used before it all started so I guess you didnt really watch the video that closely? Also I can tell why he was using that preset because then the fps and in my opinion the playability would go even further down the drain. Think of it as you want but I have seen a lot more ppl who benchmark rtx wich RayTracing Ultra because after that the "gains" you get from psycho are too diminishing and you would go, with both cards, most of the time below 60fps. Wich for most, including me, is not playable for a shooter anymore. Other than that your point in talking about AMD people being obsessed with Cyberpunk is quite easy. Because its the best implementation of RTX and its one of the fewer games where RTX and Path Tracing make the game look a very noticeable amount better plus it has the most implementations. Also in the video you mentioned there were also Dying Light 2 plus the next gen Witcher 3 being shown off wich represent the "smaller implementations" that a lot of games have when they list that they have "RayTracing". Be it Ambient Occlusion, Diffuse Ray Tracing, Raytraced Shadows etc.. Most games only have one or very few implementations of the aforementioned ones. If you think that he is being misleading then take a look at the 1 day newer video he posted where he used path tracing wich shows that the 3080 is slightly better the more and more demanding implementations it has. Also (this is just my opinion, so if you think your way its all good :) ) I think that "RayTracing Performance" is the performance / FPS I have when RayTracing is turned on. Not the performance loss I have because I turn it on. Just to clarify I am not a native English speaker so I might think differently than others, but I would not interpret it the way you explained it. But this is just something where you can interpret on your own. Cheers man and only the best to you all!

@stefanz8364 I get your point and it's a difference of opinion. The thing is if you go to benchmarks across the web they will use raster ultra, RT ultra and then pathtracing. The people that said the 3080 will beat the 7900xtx in RT in that game were using the information from those benchmarks. Now apparently they were the ones lying? But are they the ones lying when they are simply going by online benchmarks across the Internet? At RT ultra the 3080 beats the 7900xtx. Finding a level of RT lesser which doesn't impact the 7900xtx quite as much to swing a result I find slightly disingenuous. That's just my point of view. Is it a big deal? No not really... I just find it a little strange. I also have a 7900xtx and I certainly didn't buy it with intention of playing RT. That doesn't mean it can't but everyone knows it's not AMDs strongest point.

Uh they've had it for quite some time now. I know it's not as good as DLSS, but it's way better than DLSS was only 3 years ago and we were already praising it then. AMD's just isn't machine learning based which I honestly believe isn't necessary.

I tried the pt mod 2.0 with balanced option. Basically 1 light 1 bounce light. I go 3840 x1800 dlss performance at am 70s without fg. Iv seen some comparisons and from oriignal to opmtimised there is a little difference however the fps gain is massive. Check it out very easy to install. This is what those amd guys are doing they are getring to about low 50s what we were doimg with 2 lights and 2 bounces...now its playable for these guys. But when we were doing it..oh the 4080 cant do it. I swear amd guys are just angry at nvidia because nvidia priced them out..and they were forced to buy amd 😂😂

Or go 4k or 3860 x 1800 and put in dlss performance. But I think original pt is just too heavy on 4k and your better of modding it down a little. Also cpu must matter in this game. I feel my cpu is definitely limiting me a bit. That's OK cus it's one or a game of games. Cyberpunk is literally a game we are 2 gens away from being able to run without fg. Crazy cus we will get a 60 series card and finally get the 70-80 fps dlss quality at 4k without fg on a 80 seires card..hopefully

@c523jw7 I just run it RT phsyco.. PT is a push in that game and I don't want to lower other settings to try and force it.. I read an article yesterday about a PT in the game and how some circumstances it looks wrong as it wasn't initially built into the game. I kinda get that also. In some places PT looks amazing, in some I find it looks way off.. I think had it been built with PT from the start it would look a lot different..

I had a random thought that gave me a chuckle. I swear Nvidia are masters at gas lighting and trolling us. 30 series. They gave the 3080 owners who paid top dollar 10g vram..then gave the porpers 16g with the 3060ti 😂😂. That was infuriating for me as a 3080 owner 😂.16g on a 3060 is as useful as a pair of plastic nuts 😂😂. And rumour is nvidia are releasing a 4070 with 20g vram..i swear Nvidia are doing this just to aggravate us 80 series owners. Its like they get in that board room and just makes jokes on how to troll us lol

Let me correct myself the 3060ti had 8g and the 3060 had 12g 😂 3060 is as useful as having no nuts..now the 12g makes sense. I'm just mad my 3080 was missing that 6g vram. Imagine having rhe 3060ti and seeing nvidia give more vram on the standard model. Imagine having 8g of vram for 4k gaming 😂

@c523jw7 yeah they put the gddr6 on the 3060 so cheaper memory but more of it! Same vram AMD are still using... Probably makes sense to do it with the 4070 and maybe something they should have done from the start. I kinda hope they get it right with 50 series and only do gddr7 at higher end and then give decent amounts of gddr6 at lower end. I'm not sure how it equates to total performance but apparently RT shows big improvement at memory speed so gddr7 should be improvement at RT over gddr6x. For non RT cards the gddr7 is probably pointless.
