If there's no difference in the silicon (null hypothesis), then why wouldn't Intel just ship these as 10900K, given the stock shortages? May suggest this is from the "borderline" / "fail" bins for 10900K performance.
@Qual_4 жыл бұрын
@MZClips Yes I confirm, just received the 10900K today, purchased it 2 days ago on one of the biggest seller of the country for those kind of products (in France), I wasn't even aware of a shortage.

Interesting. I was going to suggest the same thing. Thought perhaps they may be having trouble "binning" the 10900k in quantities. But as the others have suggested it may not appear as a shortage in other places. Is it basic supply and demand or something else?

@Rafael Herschel That doesn't explain why these weren't just sold as 10900K though; if the silicon was capable. Why even invent the further SKU, rather than just addressing 10900K shortages in those markets in which there is one.

Hey Steve, love the content. Overall I find your benchmarking of products to be top-tier. But I believe that if you were to add a Multi-tasking/Gaming benchmark you would cover a use case that I believe to be very common yet has no benchmarking coverage. What I mean is benchmarking some games with programs going on in the background. It is rare today to have a game running with absolutely nothing running in the background anymore even if that is just a mouse/keyboard/RGB light control program. I have a 3600x and with my normal idle state, I sit between 5-10% with Discord, Brower, game lunchers, office stuff, etc. I also often watch videos with a game running or in extreme cases two games at the same time. When I see benchmarks of CPUs like the 7700k or 3300x I see that they get good average FPS but they are often pegged at or near 100% usage. This means that if you were to put 5% extra load on the CPU for background tasks then it would eat into resources needed to not have stuttery FPS in the game. Just something to think about.

I got a dirt cheap deal on a used i5-9400F prebuilt. Paid £160 and that includes Asus mobo, 16GB DDR4, GT 1030 GDDR5 (which I will sell) and PCIe4 M.2 SSD. Got a used RTX 3060 Ti and threw everything in a new case. Total spend £600. And once I sell all my old stuff, I'll get £350 back. The used market is indeed awesome!

My PC recently failed, still under warranty. Sent it in and was told my GPU had failed and it would be 6-8 weeks to get a replacement. Rather than make me wait, the vendor sent me an entirely new computer from their limited stock on hand...with two differences. My 3070 was upgraded to a 3080, and my i9-10900K was downgraded to a i9-10850K. I've been feeling good about the GPU upgrade and slightly bad about the CPU downgrade. This has helped me feel just good overall. Thanks!

Have you guys considered doing backorders for the large modmats? I remember in a video you said that you need the money from the last batch before making the next one. I think backordering would help a lot here on your end, and for people that don't mind sending the money well before getting the product.

@@ryanwallace983 I'm not claiming the XT CPU's were a great buy, but when compared to the 10850K they were a step forward and not a step back at the price point. They're just wanking over their cores, mate, most of them don't have a use for those cores as they run no software that makes use of it. That's why you see 1700x or 2700x users already upgrading, because you can have a hundred cores, if they are slow you're better off with fewer/faster cores. Not to mention the money they lost in the process "thanks to amd" canibalizing two of it's generations.

yeah bro... if you buy the most EXPENSIVE intel CPU you can (sometimes) get a whole 20fps extra! It's only LITERALLY 400-500 DOLLARS MORE THAN THE 3600XT! Not to mention that there's literally millions of tasks a computer can perform besides playing games, such as streaming them! Where AMD does better! You could literally buy a whole ass graphics card for the unbelievable premium you pay for an intel chip that gives you 20 more fps at MAX! WOW! 400-500 USD! Not to mention the threshold for most buyers is either high resolution at 60hz or lower resolution at 144-240hz! So 20 fps really doesn't mean shit! There aren't really 4k 144-240hz monitors, especially not ones that don't cost the whole cost of a PC! You'll be stuck at 60hz which means that, oh wow, you dont fucking need to buy one that is 600-700 dollars because you either get the performance at a specific point for WAY CHEAPER or you're playing games competitively and lower the resolution/settings to consistently hit a 240+ FPS mark so you get the full refresh rate out of your monitor! Is 20fps worth 400-500 USD extra to you when it will pretty much never matter?! Did you read the graph??? Do you see the comparison of numbers on the screen??? LMAO!

@@John__K Who cares Intel beats it and the $100 more replacement. I don't get why people think that the ryzen alternative is better only the 10900k(aa well as the 10850k right next to it) was AT or NEAR the top of each and every chart. The times that 3900x/t beats Intel are mostly very minimal and in productivity tests meanwhile the Intel chips regularly put the 3900x/t WAY below them and in the middle of the chart at best in some cases. The 10900k is the best high price chip to me as it's loses to its alternative aren't that big of a difference while it's gaming is always consistently stronger. If ryzen has to be what you go with cause you must be on the hype train with everyone else you'd be much better off with a cheaper chip Lome a 3600x and oc the crap out of it. To me the chip that spends more time at or near the top is the one to go with especially one that means heavy into leading in gaming. This gap will only extend further into high settings / higher resolution as time goes on and we get faster and faster gpu. The lead it has today at 1080p will someday extend to even 4k maybe the 3090 only sees it at 1440p but maybe the 4090 actually makes the 4k experience mirror 1080p.
