Hard to hear Rich refer to himself as flawed. No one has it all together, and from where I stand, he seems to be a pretty extraordinary human on all counts. For every comment he hears about how his books and podcasts have changed someone’s life for the (wildly) better, I bet there are thousands - if not tens of thousands - of people out there with similar stories who just haven’t shared that information publicly. Rich Roll, you are impacting so, so many people in such huge and important ways. Keep on keeping on. You’re doing amazing things and creating so much positive change in this kinda nutty world.

Julie is coming across like she knows the way but what she doesn't understand is you need both mind and heart and that does mean some logic and rationale or you will just be left, like a boat unsure of what direction to go. Julie if you're reading this understand there is no "right way," both are needed and that's what makes life interesting!

@@hudhud2244 No, I don't think she is cold at all...she is rather quite strong which we don't see many examples of in society so it is kinda shocking to see a woman this way. She also seems very confident, again, this goes against our ideal of women...I must say I respect Rich as well because it takes a strong man to be with a woman this strong...he listens and he speaks his mind as well...I truly value witnessing their back and forth and what seems a bit like 'role reversal' but, again, shows the strength in both.

Huge RR podcast fan. This one left a different energy. In the 30+ min segment, found it challenging to hear Julie position her way of parenting as the way, where his was less than. I kept waiting for an acknowledgment for his natural gifts, where she may be learning from him and his growth, or some level of grace for her growth areas. Relationships are unique and challenging, I do acknowledge that. Im inspired by Rich on so many levels with his growth journey. I hope to continue learning how to evolve each day.

He is so humble and so conscientious! What a kind human being!! I like him a lot, even though I have never been in his physical presence. She is also very pretty, but her attitude conveys a mild "superiority" and that's not very evolved or positive and not pleasant to look at. However, it seems that they have a healthy coexistence. I don't know if the concessions and sacrifices are balanced between the two, but what matters is that the result makes them happy. I admire a lot their capacity to talk about everything in front of "us", on a public plataform like KZbin! This is great chance to learn from them. They are very brave and honest. So grateful for all of your videos, Rich! A vegan hug, from Madeira Island, Portugal. 💚

This woman has a powerful message. Humanity is in desperate need of understanding it. People can (& will) do whatever they want from their perspective, but we all need to understand how we are connected & how we construct reality. This sounds woo-woo, but damn it, we need to grasp that this exists.

Now THATS a beautifully Mature relationship - open listening expressing grappling as you meet eye to eye at the table.... What a profoundly honest sharing ✨🙏✨ actually, she speaks the truth of the age old challenges of the dance of the energies of masculine-feminine, within & without ...their perspective on their relationship is uniquely theirs, NO RIGHT, NO WRONG, simply the dance & perspective that arises out of their individual Conscious Awareness & its expanse. I feel she speaks true of the challenge of humankind - and they're grappling with how to dance with balance in relationship with each other & children, honouring all ways, to allow the best to arise from EACH way - i bow in reverence to you both as my beautifully open fellow beings ✨🙏✨💕 Ps it is a time of Humility for masculine, to allow for balanced emergence of Feminine, for the feminine way has been devalued & denigrated for so long, it takes Humility, to PAUSE and listen & 'meet' as he demonstrates here 🌟

I found Julie’s approach to dealing with her child’s disappointment very helpful. As I help my daughter in her 20’s deal with a cancer diagnosis it is helpful for me to understand that it’s not helpful for me to pile on to the many emotions she is experiencing. Of course my heart aches and I would want nothing more than to take all of the pain and suffering and make it my own but I can’t. I can only hold space for my daughter and be her rock.

I do hope that she takes some of her lessons and also applies them to your relationship. It seems with each podcast, she looks right into your eyes with a mean intensity of self righteousness and that she knows the path and you do not. And I hope she can see the unresolved trauma she is also then applying to you through her self righteousness. It also IS okay to intellectualize some shit. If we truly accept people as they are, we see that is also another way.

Women can not responsibly hold power over men, or even equal to men, in a relationship. "SriMati" has turned into a vicious, emasculating crone because when she was young and hot nobody gave her boundaries and everyone pretended to enjoy listening to her new age bullshit. Now Rich, a super cool and interesting guy in everyone else's eyes, gets to be her personal whipping boy.

There were many lovely soundbites, images and gentle exchanges between the two. 🌼 Thank you for sharing. As for the most predominant messages, I saw a lovely lady with a dancing hand declare in a slightly authoritarian way how she was one of the enlightened ones who could puff herself up even more in order to help Ukrainians know that "she" (?) is present with them. And then she uses her spiritual persona to sell us expensive non-cheese cheeses with holy names (Eternal, Awaken, Sacred.) She says here "...I'm promising them (investors in Srimu, the cheese company) a deeply meaningful life experience, which will include a lot of money..." Of course earning one's living is honorable and good. But using one's spiritual gifts to enrich oneself beyond one's needs, isn't that selling one's soul? One receives freely, shouldn't one give freely? The temptation to capitalize on spirituality gains must be huge, that I could believe. According to the holy books, Jesus and Buddha were tempted as well. We need to resist and call out those practices when we see it in ourselves and others. I'm tired of pedestals and the word salad one has to use to justify these profiteering practices. We have enough mega-rich TV preachers, US Senators benefiting from their positions, self-aggrandizing yogis, and prosperity gospel pastors. I prefer leaders and spiritual teachers with more humility, more openness to others' world views, and who strive to live a modest lifestyle. As an example, if she were to walk the talk, how about offering the profits of her cheese company to resettling Ukrainian refugees? Or maybe offer a boatload of cheese to the World Central Kitchen, run by José Andres, who runs around the world feeding the homeless? Or...

I'm so glad I actually listened instead of going off of some of the comments I read...I felt compelled the other day to check there had been a new Julie podcast uploaded and low and behold. I didn't get the impression AT ALL that Julie was saying Rich's parenting approach wasn't valid, rather she was responding to his comment that she didn't understand the gravity of the situation...to which she corrected by expressing that her approach was coming from a different place. She was merely highlighting her perspective, which is that the feminine approach is still deemed inferior in resolving/addressing the tough issues we face. Spiritual teachers can come across as being very ego-centric, and there are moments where you might interpret that from Julie but in my view she's actually very balanced and admits that she doesn't hold all the answers, she's just sharing what knowledge has helped her and how she thinks it would better humanity. I just think commenting on how a relationship seems based off of virtual media is so base and futile. There are couples you can know in the flesh who appear one way and then it shatters your world view when you learn they're getting a divorce. These two have been together for two decades, let's maybe give them the benefit of the doubt.

This is a great conversation and I love it between a powerful woman and a powerful man and so appreciate the discussion revolving around the masuculine and feminine energies....( I am a powerful woman and to hear Julie voicing these things so articulately is very refreshing and certainly not very common - society really does not know what to do with powerful women, imo, but that is a different discussion). The one thing I will say...I feel it is, in fact, very helpful to experience disappointment and some harder things in life early in life while you still have parental support/love (I think ideally in teens)...I have seen cases when this hasn't happened and invariably 'tough times' occur in adulthood and folks that have always 'had it easy' can really get taken out/spiral pretty far down. Also, sometimes the best we can do is just love people and help them reconnect 'with the fabric of existence' in very simple ways like a meal, and whatever else pulls one out of isolated subjective experience. It is a hard lesson but 'trusting life' is something one learns with time.

Thanks for the elegant reminder that I’m called to be even stronger in my feminine intention of holding space for a more whole outcome - rather than both of us emerging with shit all over our faces 😜

I think thos podcast was excellent. Jukie speaks some very deep truths. She's got some flack on here for coming across self righteous?! I personally don't think so. I think she is a wise soul and a very expanded soul and a human who is very connected to the self and I think she has insights that RR may not have as much of, but that doesn't make her self righteous, it just makes her different and it's these areas she has insights and awareness (it's her areas of interest) and she's giving him ideas to think about and what she says to RR is said with care, kindness and with the wish to see him blossom. She actually lifted him up quite a lot (told him how beautiful he is) not just pointing out what was needed, not just what was not quite right yet and as he said, he's still walking through healing his trauma. She's speaks a whole lot of truth. She's merely saying we need balance. They love each other. She adores him and is incredibly proud of him too.

And sometimes she speaks and her hands are just there, resting on the table. And it’s kinda peaceful ☮️ 💫 Love this two now and their relationship and the way they speak to and about each other. Truly remarkable I never found them until now.

Interesting that she mentions he's too much in his head when she comes across as way too serious and even judgemental. He feels much more relatable, heart led, and compassionate. It was helpful to see how her approach comes across. I can also be much too serious when trying to make a point and now I see what a turn off it can be.

I'm conflicted about this one and stopped watching 2/3 of the way through. I would consider my approach to going through situations with a mix of intellectualizing and trusting in the process. I felt that this conversation was very one-sided, and accusatory, somewhat stubborn, and has an "I told you I was right" vibe. On the other end, it's difficult to watch someone be knocked (despite the intermittent compliments) on a public platform who, by most audience members' opinion, is going above and beyond as a caring parent. I'm currently going through a career change and my dad, who reminds me of a less spiritual Rich Roll, takes an intellectual, practical, and "let's be real here" problem-solving approach. While he didn't go the route of finding a fulfilling career, he can sympathize with me and wants the best. On the other side, my non-spiritual mom is more lassaiz-faire and trusting of the process but isn't as tied into the day-to-day world. Like most children, I don't want to live the life my parents lived. However, I truly feel that the input from both perspectives is immensely beneficial and keeps me somewhat grounded with immediate reality, able to analyze the best path forward, and able to make the bumps along the path feel less bumpy and trust that I will eventually land on my feet even. Through the all-trusting perspective of Julie, opportunities arise and are better recognized through one's presence. But with Rich's intellectual and action-based perspective, one is able to better discern between whichever opportunities arise. After realizing I wanted to quit my job back in January, my mom insisted that I take time to sit with myself before I move back home once my current lease ends and ponder which career path I'd like to take before applying for jobs. Although I am a spiritual person, the problem-solving patterns inherited by my dad made me compelled to search through career paths in the meantime. I ended up finding and accepting a 2-month temporary position with an environmental nonprofit that will give me enough solitude and time to reflect on my future career path during my tenure, and will also allow me to network and gain a hands-on understanding within the conservation sector and gain preferred hiring status during my time with this role. While I may not have accepted this role if I only considered my dad's problem-solver perspective, I believe that the parenting from my father has made me more keen to perceive and maximize certain opportunities that have manifested themselves. While, as Julie states, it's important to embrace femininity and compassion, it's also important to not shun or view masculine tendencies and intellectualization as something "less than" or something to be changed.

I totally got this too! I even got that because she grew the child in her body she was more equipt to connect to their child's trauma. I think the masculine energy is equally as connected to the seed they provide to the egg.

Julie specifically said we all need both masculine energy & perspective, and feminine energy & perspective. She said that Rich is a wonderful parent and that their child needed both of their perspectives and ways of dealing with the problem. She wasn’t discounting or negating his perspective or ways, she was saying that her perspective and ways of dealing with the situation are equally as valid, useful, and important. Standing up for her perspective doesn’t negate his.

Thinking? Maybe. It's not what I heard. I pass on "shoulding" on myself, yet, know keeping a practice when life fine is a life-saver when it isn't.

Have not even listened yet except to the clip at the beginning and WOW! This is what I have felt for quite some time. Head is worshipped in this intellectualized culture. Heart is avoided. Why? I think most are living with broken hearts and just don't want to deal with it. It is so interesting because what is considered as too emotional is to me, too egotistical---not really about emotions per se.

I am only 37 minutes in and I am just touched so deeply by the conversation and what I am receiving from it and learning from it and seeing what I do in my own life. I totally got what Julie meant by the energy and in no way shape or form did you botch anything, I am so glad she clarified that. I just had to comment now because the vibe I get from you too reaches my core and the best of ways. Thank you both.

Regarding some of the responses to the way Julie presents her ideas and beliefs, I think it is incredibly challenging to present and embody an experience of the world that is so counter to the prevailing ideological paradigms we live in. And to do it with such conviction and confidence. I struggle with this a lot. Learning how to embody my values and my belief that all of reality is fundamentally an expression of consciousness, whilst also dealing with living in the material world, which is just as real. It is extremely tricky not to slip into righteousness. It is one of the greatest challenges of developing your spirituality. Because you really do begin to feel like you know! Cause your sense of reality expands beyond all the boundaries you previously thought were there! But you are still identified with yourself as an individual identity for most of daily life, because it is necessary to live much of daily life as a seperate self and isolated identity. If you are always 100% identified as being the entire universe, why eat?! So I just wanted to express that I have so much admiration for Julie. And equally for Rich in the way he can hold and respect her experience, even if at times her expression of it seems to us to slip into righteousness here and there. We are all just human. And there is wisdom to be gleaned from the life-path of every individual. Much love to everyone

She has such a beautiful perspective, I think the verbiage that she has been ingrained with can be tricky for people to understand when they have not much other familiarity with their own healing meditation intuition etc. whereas his language is what people are exposed to therefore it’s easier to empathize with. She isn’t wrong but we need to bridge the gap in communicating just by changes a few words everyone would understand better

Some of my favorite moments are just sitting in my tree stand, on day I don't even take a shot. Other I'm wading in the river without ever catching a single fish but the weather is right, the sun is high and I'm just content to be there.
