I consider myself a fairly intelligent Black man but I was always stigmatized by certain Black women due to my outer appearance (clean cut, glasses, no visible tattoos, in shape). They would assume I don't date Black women at all, not knowing that I've only dated Black and Hispanic women my entire life. They were disqualifying themselves because they didn't think they had a chance with me, and it's always annoyed me hearing that.

Man I’m the same way. As I got older it happens a lot less but as a kid & teenager, living in the hood, they always assumed I was stuck up. Even the parents of my friends use to up until we started talking & they realized I grew up a few houses down from them

As someone who is getting their M.S. degree next week and accepted to two law schools I would say me being a highly intellectual individual and having a high drive to be great, women notice. More women are open to me. On a side note, I’ve been listing to rom since 2016. Thank you. I see you as mentor, a second father, and that is my highest respect for another individual🙏🏼

Agreed, I believe in the social media world the 'pookie and rayray' appreciation message rings very loud, but once you unplug and deal in real life you see regular sisters and guys dating as normies. Different tribes

College was eye opening for me in that I saw some women in higher classes. They were more receptive on average than when I was in high school a couple years before that. I agree, a lot of black men are in the middle so they don't really stand out to any group.

I agree. It definitely happens. They also lose out on many attractive black women as well due to the intimidation factor. I’ve seen many educated FBA women, my sister included, dealing with low quality men. There was a book ‘smart women stupid choices’ broke my sister down to a T. And my sister is a Masters degree holding Physician Assistant. Came from a two parent household etc. had nothing but older brothers and cousins. We weren’t ‘hood’ by any means but we did have a balance between the streets and a strong family unit. I myself out of my siblings was the most ‘street’ out of the bunch.

I'll make a very similar point: Not ALL intelligent, educated, higher class black men look, dress, and act like the fictional television characters of Steve Urkel from Family Matters, Carlton Banks from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, or Braxton from The Jamie Foxx Show.

gotta be patient.. i’m an engineering student, but act like a business student. my track record has been only girls from other races or those “corporate” black girls that date white guys… finally found a sister that doesn’t go for pookies, fully submissive naturally, and it’s awesome. have patience, but don’t sit there playing the victim when there’s tons to go around. pay attention to what pays you. i’m very selective & don’t even look at chicks that don’t speak well, look presentable enough to be seen with, or have their lives majority together. make no mistake- just because they don’t come up to you doesn’t mean they don’t like you. from personal experience, women get shy/intimidated in the same manner as a guy approaching a girl, when they know you’re put together. it’s all about how you carry yourself that commands the respect received.

What gets us in trouble sometimes is confusing the sexual and social brain. The sexual brain puts all men and women in one pool and has us considering the Burger King drive thru girl as a mate if she's fine. The social brain dismisses attractiveness and will have us on the prowl even after marrying a "nice" woman 🤷🏿‍♂️. As always, great game and content Unc! 💯

I just thought about something: There probably needs to be more clarity regarding the term "swag." It seems like people often relate "swag" with hip-hop/baller culture, creating the belief that a man will only develop swag if he looks, dresses, and acts like a lot of those stereotypical rappers and NBA/NFL players. What is swag? From my brief research, it means "stylish confidence." From what I've observed, a man can be both "stylish" and "confident" in a more conservative, mature, professional manner. I don't think a man has to act like a rapper or a "baller" in order to have swag. I also don't think a man has to look, dress, or act like a "pimp" or some other criminal in order to have swag (it seems like people also like to associate swag with pimp culture.)

Many blue collar Black men are with good women. Many church going men are with good women. The Black community has many social groups within.
