Thanks Adam, it's a bit different than most, but always a good time when folks get my humor. I don't think I've ever offended anyone via this channel that didn't deserve to be offended. Absolutely, not as a playable character, but one you'd interact with. I have a ton of ideas in that realm, like the "Associate". Heck, if this game sold 37 copies, we could make a sequel where the "Associate" is the CEO, trying to run a company focused on rereleasing old games in inferior form. The goal would be to cut every cost and corner possible while making promises you never intended to fulfill. How much of the game can you remove, how many lies can you tell, and how low can the quality go while still finding that perfect balance of shill love, hype, high sales, and nearly no overhead? Can you continue your success into retirement, striking it rich, or will you finally push the lie too far, causing everything to come crashing down? Ok, maybe that idea needs some work.....

In Tommy's defense, I absolutely think the results are 100% a matter of his incompetence and not fraud. Was there real damage done? Should he have stopped before he started? Of course and absolutely. But I think he got caught up in a combination of a really bad case of the Dunning-Kruger effect and the ever growing cult of "positive thinking" and that led to the disaster rather than him actually intending to rip people off. But I admit I'd definitely be angrier if I had preordered the Amico myself.

Do you really think that Tommy actually had good intentions with this? Especially after reading the pitch deck that mentions his "MLB Hall of Famer" status? My best read is that Tommy wanted to buy his trophy brand, which while bad form, is perfectly fitting an egotist like him. The read for Intellivision Entertainment that would best explain their behavior is that they never intended to engineer and make the Amico, but foist some lucky investors the radium canister. (The Amico as designed made no logistical sense.) Also, consider the staff of the project. Many of them are people he worked with in the past, his own personal posse of cronies. He was unable to attract the attention of any of the people he mentioned he was "best friends" or "personally knew" about.

@@Jenovi I think it's both, but I'm leaning towards fraud. Generally, the Intellivision brand was known for games that were far more complex and graphically demanding than their rivals. It was practically sold as being a PC for a console gaming budget...(both being way more expensive back then, even when adjusted for inflation) which was a mess of naive hype/complete fraud in of itself, where the keyboard was concerned. Why would you try to connect that to games that are simpler and made on the cheap, if you're the massive fan of the system that you claim to be? Besides... Why would you insist touch screen controls are a great idea for something like Earthworm Jim 3? Why would you lash out at any critics? Why would you keep the game going, once it became clear things weren't going to work out for you?

TBH, I have a Switch, it's solid, but the Steam Deck is the personal game changer for me.

@@Jenovi For me the Steam Deck is too big, its games I prefer to play on PS5 (Big TV like LG CX) and the screen is bad. I have a Switch Oled, and the screen is excellent, Nintendo games are good to play in portable mode and all the 2D steam games like Street of Rage 4 and Sonic Mania have it on the Nintendo console. Everyone has a preference, I respect yours but to me the Steam Deck looks like a prototype than a hybrid console. Maybe Steam Deck 2 will fix some of the problems of the first one, but it still won't have the great asset of the Switch that is local multiplayer And by the nature of PC games, I feel that it will soon be difficult to run new releases.
