The SNES version seems more charming to me

This is a great video, but saying that the Saturn looks better visually than the arcade is just ludicrous. I do appreciate this breakdown though because i wasn't sure which copy to add to my collection. I thought for sure it would have been the PS1 but i think you sold me on the Saturn. If I owned a Jaguar i would also pick up that version... Very informative video🤘

Even though Road & Track presents The Need For Speed came out on the saturn in 1996 and the 3do version came out in 1994 they should've made a 32X port in 1994.

Great video! These days I would recommend the Saroo card for playing the Saturn version. Load times are nearly gone. Now we need a patch that restore the missing voices and an option for the original soundtrack...than we have the closest arcade port! As a kid I had a lot of fun with the Genesis/Mega Drive port. Love the good animations of the fighters, the clear graphics, good use of colour and the nice chiptune music. The voices are also very clear although there are missing some. That was the only complain for me.

One of my fav 32x games. It lets you play at your own pace, the scifi music is catchy, and the 3D polygon graphics make good use of the 32x tech. It's a fair rewarding experience. Not too hard not too easy. Easily one of the best 32x games. Good review thanks for the video.

32x is underrated but also under supported. They tried to make it do 3d but it would have been and still is an amazing 2d system.

I remember trolling my siblings with Forgotten Worlds, as I knew about the issue and how to solve it... but since they didn't know... I pretty much did it as a payback for those times they bullied me in my childhood, I laughed big time when they complained that it was impossible to start the game, and THEN I told them about how to solve it, even so... they failed big time with the game. LOL.

I'll have to check whether Bodycount supports 2 players using both the Menacer gun & the mouse. ...and I need a Sega mouse or compatible device! Does anyone know of a device that lets me use a bluetooth or USB mouse with the Mega Drive / Genesis? The official mouse seems rare and expensive. Nice video!

I noticed that when the Shang Tsung morphs are turned on in the Saturn and PlayStation versions the visuals become extremely pixelated.

THe Idea of the 32X being the issue is that it bound Resources that SEGA could have used on the SATURN and SATURN Software, for example Knuckles' Chaotix, but also the Star Wars titles. And also that the low sales of the 32X could have stressed relationships between third party, that then abandoned SEGA in the SATURN Era... So from that point, it makes sense, however the question is: would it have mattered if they would have moved all the resources towards the Saturn instead or would the outcome be pretty much the same? And that's the real issue, though I think: Probably, because the issue is that SEGA Japan panicked when SONY was releasing earlier in the West. Had they not and launched with the Japnese Pad, they might have fared much better...

It would be cool to see a modern remake of Hangtime on SNES and Genesis with 64Mbit (8 Megabyte) ROM size. Even 32Mbit would be impressive. Many fighting game demo ports show that Genesis can push arcade fighting character sprites. An SA1 SNES version with 8-Megabyte ROM would be amazing.

Pats not perfect but Brett weiss had to be cut out of the book... lol. Like Brett doesn't seem like he even knows anything about video games and if you don't believe me just watch brett weiss' youtube channel. 35:15 looks like it was sensationalized. Pat doesnt seem like he scolded the guy at all. I agree with Jenovi's criticism about the n64 guide book. If Pat doesn't like the console then doing it just for pure greed seems disingenuous to his fans by selling them a bad product. Other criticism I have Pat's gone downhill since he went full podcast. I listened to a lot of pats podcasts and him and Ian do some good ones at times and then there's others that are cringyworthy. I haven't listened or watched any of his stuff in a few years to be honest. It's understandable why he stopped flea market madness when there's not retro game deals it's just retro game hoarders now. It'd be nice if he got back into why I originally subscribed to his channel, make some reviews with oddball comedy. I dont understand why ALL the home versions were such shit. Even PS1 and Saturn sounded so bad compared to the arcade, with totally different announcer for no good reason. The announcer on every versions sound dead. Tbh the closest was the Genesis, as crazy as that sounds.

To this day I am still baffled by Rise of the Dragon. I have the same hardware and game version as people who have gotten it to work, but the mouse won't work on my system no matter what I do. I can get it to recognize the left mouse button to start the game, but after that, nothing. Also tried both the original version and rerelease on a MegaSD, same result on both. Other games like Eye of the Beholder and Panic work just fine. The best game with the mouse though is by far Doom 32X Resurrection. The dpad+mouse combo has catapulted it to being my favorite console version of Doom.

Why are modern consoles offer so less now? These old consoles and their extra peripherals really kept the excitement.

Like with all my 3.5" Floppy Disk games (most now 30-40 years old) you need to make sure you have access to the either the ROM or disk image, so you can duplicate the disk when necessary. This at least means you have a full and complete copy of the game, but can still play it. However physical copies are one thing, playing ROMs directly from an optical drive emulator is just a convenience unheard of when a lot of these games were new, so perhaps buy a second console and convert it with all the modern modifications to play all the games in your collection, without having to actually touch them. As it's original hardware, it's not emulation of the system--just its disk reader!

I miss the original 3 button Mega Drive controller. Easily the best and highest quality Sega controller (the second gen fixed one) The Xbox Series controller is basically a modern version of that but it’s missing the Z and C buttons to complete the ABC XYZ. The OG Xbox controller was close because it had 6 face buttons with the white and black buttons. Honestly ABXY isn’t enough buttons on top in many games.

The Cheetahmen 2 deal at the beginning, as advertized, was not in any way a scam., It was sold as a LEGIT, licensed version. The patched rom had nothing to do with it. The idea was tom have a legit, physical copy for the collectors who wanted it. And they were saying it was legally licensed. Now it comes it it may be ilegal botleg, that makes it a scam if so. For example, fi I say, HEY, I have a big bag of poo for sale, human poo. $60 each. And then u order it and receive a bag of poo, that ios not a scam. People are allowed to charge as much as they want to profit as much as they can, as long as they are honest about what is being sold. It does not matter if each cart costs $10, if the users decide to pay,m, then that is not a SCAM, thta is just a bad price, a matte rof opinion. The only real issue, is if it really is a botleg, then that is very bad indeed.
