@judahsfinest1860 I played it back when it first came out before all the updates. I can't really say how it is now. But from when I did play it, it's really fun. The movements required are very precise and kind of finicky. You end up doing moves on accident sometimes that you weren't intending. It's also a good workout. I'm always covered in sweat after I play. If you practice the moves over and over, then you can get pretty comfortable with the actions. Also, the community was amazing. When I played there was no voice chat, but I got into so many matches when I first started where people would noticed I was inexperienced and when spend half an hour teaching me exactly how to do the moves and how to set up combos. Really great game if you are willing to put some time into learning it.

The contrast between your two fighting styles is just a chef's kiss to the whole scenario. While your opponent seemed to be playing to their defense much more and going for clear opportunity attacks and use of walls/the arena to their advantage. You on the other hand seem to play towards a much more aggressive and offensive move set, using any chance available to attempt to do damage. Though I can't forget to mention how the opponent tried to contain the objects on the field (using walls already existing or created by you) to a lesser amount, while you went for a more overpowering and create as many variables as possible kind of attack, not to mention use of the movement abilities to obtain a better angle to attack. It looked like a really balanced and cinematic fight, the type that'd keep you on the edge of your seat.

A tip I learned from boxing. When you have the guy backing towards the edge, don’t fall back. Instead take the space and use it to control his movements. In that scenario, you have the choice to retreat, he doesn’t. This gives you a massive advantage.

What’s more fascinating is that the pro bending is probably much simpler in execution than this, since the bending styles are more straightforward and speed oriented over there. So, besides the fact that you’d need 6 players at once, it’s a very possible thing to create if people can already make earthbending as detailed as shown here.
@aprophetofrng98212 жыл бұрын
@@Vekcrazah The hard thing would be the water I think. Damn, I wish they would add more high-tier moves into the game, because god is it fun to use different stances to different scenarios, yet there must be something that could be able to remove one's reliance on the walls so much.
@l0kk0162 жыл бұрын
Well that's kinda what earth bend is about... Maybe they could add a "quick wall" that is faster but falls in little time, or make some move to control walls at distance (like shoving the opponent's wall against them) but that's about it... With a way higher tech maybe vertical movement/platforms would be the answer, tho it seems to be way too unreasonable
@victorvirgili44472 жыл бұрын
Most of the solutions viewers give to reliance on walls would fit other forms of bending more tbh, earthbending *is* all about facing the enemy head first, so walls are supposed to be spammed here
@Alex_Fishman2 жыл бұрын
@@victorvirgili4447 Ok, I understand your point, but in Avatar, which is what this game based on, Earthbenders used way less walls and more variations of projectiles and earthquake-like attacks, and I think that if they add an attack that could remove walls in a small radius, it would make the game less reliant on them, while still giving the option to use them from a larger distance. Also a rock suit technique would be nice as well.
@Bazingler2 жыл бұрын
Yeah the games fun but I really like it when the person you’re fighting isn’t spamming 1 or 2 moves or the same combo over and over. I feel like they should replace wall with something smaller, or just get rid of it altogether.
@daytonabbott36012 жыл бұрын
I feel like incorporating an energy/mana cost for abilities that scales based on the power and damage of the ability could solve this so that you can't just spam cast the wall. I just found out about the game tonight and have only watched videos of it so I don't really know how well that would work, but it seems like some sort of casting cost would make it more strategic and interesting. I'm sure that's something the devs have thought about though so maybe they felt like it would ruin the game. Looks super fun though.

They've got to invent some more tech to make it work well, I think. To help with the viewer experience, they'd need full-body tracking for all players with really low latency and high accuracy. Right now, that might still mean a lot of heavy/bulky gear on a player's body unless they're going to be in enclosed chambers. Bulky equipment looks kinda goofy, so that hurts the spectator's fantasy of seeing the players as cool, and enclosed spaces mean there's little reason to buy in-person tickets rather than online. VR looks and feels increasingly cooler from the player perspective, but there's still very little work being done to make it look pretty for a spectator except for AR, and that doesn't work well for in-person spectators I think it'll happen eventually, but I think we're still a ways away.

You forgot flight! Blocking is an incentive for faster projectiles and more situational plays! You can use hold and flick to hit your opponent in the back, meaning they can't block unless they turn to do so!
