It kinda works! For some reason my grass doesn't go to the ground level tho... and changing the Z value (blue append) up or down the grass always goes up instead of down. Any ideas why this might be? So how could I change the grass "ground level" to be lower than my characters pelvis? :D I did everything exactly as you except that I placed the Level Blueprint part straight inside my characters blueprint. Should make no difference. :o

I don't think it should make any difference. Try inverting the Z value.

Yeah this is doable.Those grass is made with a plane mesh and depending on the players position the vertices are offsetted. Your game looks great btw.

So as it seems this will only work on the character/player? You can not use the same parameter(s) on enemies to make them bend the grass as well? How would you be able to set it up so it works for both the Player and AI? at the same time?

You could also make the set the vector parameter collection in inside the ennemy AI. there by getting the location of its position.

If you need it to work for more than one enemy you have to create many vector collection parameter and max them together in the material. Set each of it in the enemy blueprint. But I don't really recommend that, Depending on how many enemies you have it will become very expensive.

The video is awesome. But you need to upgrade your THUMBNAILS. It is very BORING and DULL. A good thumbnail attracts people, which will increase your views, subs, likes and people's TRUST OF your SKILLs also

So I'm trying to do this project myself and am running into a problem of my Material Parameter Collection being blank when I open it instead of showing the Scalar and Vector things. Any ideas on how to fix this? Because I'm at a loss and google doesn't seem to have anything for me.

For that instead of third person character. Just type in get play character. Then from in you can get the capsule location and the rest is the same.

Ok. So type in get player character on the level blueprint then drag of from it and get world location of capsule component then connect that to the vector parameter collection instead of of thirdperson character.

Yes, it does work in first person shooters.also it doesn't have much impact on frames-per-second. This is a very cheap effect.

The grass is from the open world demo.You can download it from the learn tab of your unreal engine launcher you will also get may tree and foliage mesh with it.
