Smithsonian's Spark!Lab (part of the National Museum of American History) regularly engages over 200,000 visitors per year in hands-on invention challenges. The pandemic sparked new thinking about how to provide open access for students, educators, and the general public. In partnership with Autodesk’s Tinkercad and Instructables platforms, the Spark!Lab team created a growing library of digital invention activities that translate hands-on learning to the virtual environment-accessible anytime, anywhere.
