All of their videos are interesting and very well done. The music, transitions , vocals, drums, story. I always love watching them. I see alot of Fuki directions in them. So different from G. S. And the energy is there in both. Beautiful Fuki, please bring them back for an Album, or at least a Concert,

Like Schrodinger's Cat, DOLL$BOXX is both simultaneously alive and dead. Nobody associated with the band has said they are finished, nor has anyone said they are active. So, until someone opens the DOLL$BOXX and looks inside, we don't know their current fate. I'm desperately hoping they get together and put out an album. Or an EP, maybe. I'll take a single! *Anything!* Koga rocks that bass so hard she has to contact all seismologists within 100 km before she plugs in. True story 😉

DOLL$BOXX is in kind of a limbo, technically they still exist, there was no talks or messages of ending the project, but also we only had radio silence from them, pretty much ever since they finished their last run in 2018. Fuki still has DB in her bio, members still talk (Koga was in Unlucky Morpheus concert just this year) and also good to mention that there was a 5 year gap between their first two releases (so current hiatus length doesn't feel out of ordinary yet). In my opinion what complicates things a little bit are the new members of GS. If they would do concerts with three bands (like they did in the past) maybe then it wouldn't be a problem, but otherwise not sure what do you do with Angie and Yuri :D. Also I think Hana should stay as a drummer of DB, because her style works better for heavier music. So all hope is not lost and we can only sit and wait, maybe they'll comeback for another round if they have it in them.

Like some others have said, they only have 2 CD releases (and 2 DVD releases): - 2012: Dolls Apartment (CD, King Records) - 2014: Dolls Collection (DVD with MV's of all tracks of Dolls Apparentment that you have seen with the "to be continued", King Records) - 2017: High $pec (CD, Victor) - 2018: High $pec High Return (DVD with all the live stuff you have seen, Victor). The first 2 releases were done while GS was still on their "own label" (Juicy Girls Records), King Records also seems to repress those releases. The Victor releases can be more difficult to find (although the CD is also on the UK label JPU records). It seems like it is a bit more easy nowadays for some reason, I remember them being sold out for a while. GS changed to Victor in 2015, Unlucky Morpheus is still independent. But Fuki has released a couple of solo releases under Victor in 2016 and 2017 under the name Fuki Commune, but her newer solo releases are released on an other label (in 2019, 2020 and 2023) and are just under the name Fuki, not Fuki Commune. It's possible some weirdness happened there between Fuki and Victor. Let's hope GS changing to a new label makes the chance of a new Doll$boxx release higher again.

The first D$B album was produced when GS was still Indie. The second one happened, because both parties found a common timeslot, but also, because both happened to be with the same label (Victor). It's not only the time they need to find, it's contractual. Only thing that might happen is that they will do a concert maybe ... I also think, the main reason, why we never hear GS play D$B-songs, is that Angie would have to sing them, and that would open a can of worms for fans to compare Angie and Fuki. That would be totally unfair towards Angie, who is a completely different singer than Fuki.

I agree with your philosophy - being at the top doesn't bring happiness. The artistic choices made by the members of Doll$boxx certainly show that there are more important things to them than being financially at the top. Parts of the lyrics must be satire, like you said at the end. Other parts seem sincere, e.g. "Hold close only the people you care about". Maybe the latter is a response to the former, but also, always worth remembering that translating Japanese to English is difficult.

I feel this is getting worse and worse unfortunately. I can understand wanting to have financial safety and such, but nowadays all some people seem to care about is attention and validation, which they get through a simple number that tells them how many random people clicked on some button...?

Those are the only releases from DB - there was some hope from the fans that we might get something last year as it was previously 2012 and 2017 (I think) so would've fit the 5 year pattern. It doesn't seem likely now, although last time I looked Fuki still listed DB on her twitter profile and there's been social media of Fuki and Koga attending each others gig's in the last year. So I think they're still friends but just busy with their own stuff now, and it would potentially be awkward with Angie there now too.

Interesting comments. Both bands are very busy so they probably have little time for anything else. How a new collab would with Angie in the band now could be a bit awkward as you've said.

@@react-o-mat Sure, I mean you could add Angie in, and Jill from UM and see just how chaotic and crazy you can make it! I'm thinking the more likely option now, especially after seeing the Hanatera footage, would be for the current GS lineup to make a DB style heavier album together rather than bringing in Fuki again.
