They had nice expensive furniture to work with such as gorgeous area rug from the pottery barn that is 1k alone and their sofa. And 1k plus frame tv. She helped with the layout and helped them put it together with cheap curtains and fake plants, baskets, etc. the video shows how important layout is in decorating.

That’s what I’m wondering.. Homegoods has amazing decor for 1/4 of the price. It’s still nice to have your house decorated but I think the money could have been used better.. but they are in California 😬

SHARRAH. You did an outstanding job! The mirror above the couch really enlarges the space. The storage chest with extra seating is great and the new oval coffee table, chair, and accessories are so perfect! What a difference and Tyler is wonderful!

even if she has recessed lighting , i would still opt for lamps as an accessory. sometimes we dont want upper lighting , it can be too harsh , lamps create a soft romantic feel to a room. I agree with Julie Jackson, the cane baskets are awful and the TV ( in my opinion) is too far away from the sofa .

..... I agree, there needs to be at least three types of lighting in s room. I even have a small lamp in the bathroom, because it's nice ambiance for taking a bath, etc. I also think a few pillows against the back of the sofa. .. it's a deep sofa, lol. It's not my style of room, but that's ok..... It's what the homeowner is comfortable with. 🙂

I like everything about the re-do. The tobacco baskets are great. Being an avid reader, I personally would have to have lamps. What about those wall hung lamps on the swing out arms? Ceiling lights just won’t do for reading. The room is beautiful.

Hello Sharrah, I’m new to your channel and I absolutely love your energy! Your advice is amazing! My living room and dining room have to be in an area the size of this living room. My space is long and narrow like this one. I fight constantly on how to arrange the space. By watching this video I’m now going to try it this way. Her front door is straight across an opening (kitchen maybe?) when you walk in my front door the stairs are immediately to the right (behind the open door). In front is a very small area next to the staircase (where I put table and chairs). To the left is the area I use for the living room and on that side is the doorway to the kitchen. Phew….did I lose you😮‍💨🤪 Anyway thank you for sharing this video and I’m glad it came across my feed🤗 Now I have something new to try!

I would post the couch for trade to find a smaller one I like. A lot of people will buy small ones because it fits their budget and they would jump for the change to get a bigger one. Cost $0 and both parties are happy!

Lamps add ambiance! You can see the reflection of the mirror on the TV screen. Too much clutter on the wall with trays & baskets. Coolest coffee table! Love your enthusiasm & keeping it REAL!

Sharrah I love your videos💕 you are very talented. I enjoy watching your mom decorate her clients houses but my house is not large, does not have a lot of windows etc. and I have a very small budget. When I saw how you decorated your new home it was so beautiful and I could relate to the scale of the house. I once had the large house and plenty of decorations but now we downsized since we are empty nesters and we don’t want more stuff. We want simplicity. Maybe you can do a video for a mature client who is downsizing. That would be interesting. Keep up the great work and looking forward for more of your videos. I just purchased my first home, but I have been struggling to figure out how to design my living space. It's a traditional row home. Although, it has a lot of space, there are also a lot of quirks. I have been searching for ways to design and organize the furniture that I have so that I may have a clearer picture of the size of furniture I want to purchase. I also have a vestibule with a pony wall entry way that's adjacent to my window, which has thrown me for a loop. I've been spending hours rearranging and watching videos to find just the right layout. Thank you for this video! I think you solved several of my problems! However, I have one more dilemma. Behind my sofa is a closed up fireplace and to the sides are two divots for bookcases/shelves. Can your focal point still be the far back wall with the divots?
